Wenn du Gairloch kennst...

Post 1

Edward the Bonobo - Gone.

....do you also know the wee village of Badachro, about 6 miles away. You head towards Loch Maree and then turn right onto the road towards Red Point.

Anyway...some friends of mine own the small island in Badachro harbour. And, yes, the midges are murder!

You can call me TC

Sorry - haven't been on line much so I missed this one. No, sorry, I don't remember the village. The only time (as far as I remember) in my LIFE (!) that I was ever in Scotland was with my husband was in 1981 when I was just pregnant with my first son. We camped, and went all round the outside of the country by car, anti-clockwise, in 10 days or so. So we only got to see the main towns and sights.

As much as I loved it, and as much as I love the Scots, I don't think I'd be able to persuade my husband ever to go there again. He is a sun-lover and is only happy South of the Alps.

Quite a Jack Sprat situation. But separate holidays are not "allowed".

However, if I did ever get to Scotland again, with or without hubby, I will be sure to look out for your friends' island. And bring my wellies! (The only western island we visited was Skye, and the only means of transport across the campsite we were on were wellies.)

Lots of happy memories, despite being in very early pregnangy. But I was only sick once. (And that is a topic on its own, but I won't touch on it at the moment, Sunday morning, queasy tums, etc)
