Goodbye lump - again

They do seem to like doing that to you. Had to go to dentists yesterday due a problem with one of my teeth (long, long story) which was hurting like hell and the gum had swollen up. So what's he? Probs it and pokes and asks me if it hurts. Well, duh! Whaddaya reckon?
Although it is no longer hurting it is still somewhat swollen and uncomfortable. And there's me on antibiotics and supposed to be having a birthday party tomorrow - so not fair!

seems to specialise in it - last time it came up was last christmas eve and I ended up spending christmas at the dentists!

Yeah, I felt like that. And the for the poor pharmacist.
Especially concerning that they had to risk driving down those icy roads in their (respectively) ruddy great Merc and Porsche Cayenne.
Poor soles, I mean, how ever are they going to spend all that money with all the shops closed?

well, s'only amoxicillin which you can have one or 2 on (more than that can give the galloping trots apparently) so I'll prob have todays then a last one tomorrow early and take a break. To be honest, they don;t seem to be doing a darn thing - getter better reaction off ibuprofen - but there's no way I'm risking drinking within 24hrs of taking that!

You want to watch out with Amoxicillin - they gave me that when this lump business started and it really messed up my digestive system. And I turned out to be allergic to it

With ibuprofen? I'd rather drink on that than paracetamol, doesnt have the same stomach-rotting effects!
I dont drink on a/biotics because I dont want to lessen the effectiveness. I get bad stomach/other 'feminine' discomforts on em anyway, so I'd have waited till after the weekend and then given my body a good hard battering. I know they are there for a reason but I have a pretty healthy hatred of the damn things!

Hi again Mal, are they just removing these lumps literally because they have no idea what they are or will they do a biopsy?
I recall when I had a biopsy earlier this year and caused a bit of a stir when I went for the results. I walked up to the reception desk and promptly informed said receptionist I had an appointment for the results of my autopsy!!
I was informed I looked remarkably well after my autopsy, when she'd picked herself up off the floor from laughing.

No, I won't let them autopsy me
But I think they do want to biopsy them. Unfortunately, they've eliminated just about everything it *could* be Maybe the new blood tests will show something harmless

"With ibuprofen? I'd rather drink on that than paracetamol, doesnt have the same stomach-rotting effects!"
Oooh no, ibuprofen has plenty good stomach rotting/liver mangling properties! Although apparently the risk depends on how heavy a drinker you are normally.
I seem ok on amoxicillin (so far) - it's one of the penicillin lot so if your allergic to that you're prob allergic to most penecillins.

I'm not allergic to them, they WORK on me! it's just that they work a litle too well and I have to drink lots of bacteria-adding drinks (I go for the old fave Yakult on an unofficial recommendation from my doc...) otherwise I get a bad stomach and discomfort in certain areas... It's just the bacterial imbalance, seeing as how they cannot completely target antibiotics directly on 'bad' bacteria...
