Gnomon - time to move on

I'm looking forward to getting back to writing entries, which is what I really love about h2g2. I love writing down my thoughts on things, and if people read them, which apparently they do, then that's good.

I don't intend to do any more Peer Reviewing, nor do I expect anbody else to review my entries. I'll continue writing, but my work will be for my own little corner of the Unedited Guide, which I'm calling Gnomon's Guide. I hope that the search engines will find them as easily as they find the Edited Entries.

Unfortunately, I am now unable to make any changes to any large entries. When click on Save or Update, the "Captcha" system asks me to confirm a code to verify I am not a robot, then it clears the entry box and doesn't save the entry.

I presume this also prevents everybody else from editing large entries.

That happened to me a while ago, so I stopped trying. For what it's worth, the technology that developed into Captcha originated with "Imitation Game" hero Alan Turing. I dislike Captcha immensely, but I don't have the clout to have it changed. smiley - sadface

Thanks, Gnomon smiley - ok

Just working through them.

The pyramid tomb entry is interesting. We have one in the UK - built for an eccentric named Mad Jack Fuller, at Brightling, Sussex. Dmitri wrote about him in A87828718, but see Wikipedia for a photo of the tomb: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_'Mad_Jack'_Fuller

Not really. These were ones I was working on.

But I hope to write a lot of small entries, and these won't take so long.

Nissen huts take me back, we had some at school and the carpentry classes took place in one, science classes in the other. I think they were WW2 technology.

There is another pyramid grave in Kinnitty, from 1830, also 30 feet high. Masonic influence no doubt.
