Hi there Y. I'm your local UnderGuide Polisher and I've come by to let you know I'll be polishing my monkey, uh, I mean doing the sub-editing of your entry A4067381
The UnderGuide piece will reach the Frontpage one Friday in the near future. Please let me know you agree with what I've done Editing wise and once we're both happy I'll send it off to the UnderGuide Editor for processing

Hi there! Pleasure to meet you, Frood. I've read through the new version of the entry and it seems fine, but why have you seperated out all the quotes from the main body of the text? I don't remember seeing this done before. Personally, I don't think it adds anything, as it makes you pause involuntarily before you read the quote and stops the flow.
Sorry to be a prima donna, and all that.

Ah, what will happen now is that your chosen Entry will wing its way to the powers that be and 'hopefully' after being approved will end up on the Frontpage. You'll be told about it by the UnderGuide Editors in due course, it's pretty much the same process as having an Entry picked for the Edited Guide. A Miner (Scout) chose the Entry, a Gem Polisher (Sub-Editor) polished it (moi...) and then it goes off to the big kahuna. Then you'll get a little email (or note on your Personal Space, or both) saying that your Entry will be on the Frontpage duly.
(As long as it passes through the Editors ok
So it's really just a case of sit and wait, as their is a backlog of UnderGuide Entries struggling to appear on the FrontPage next Friday...
