I have spent a few minutes (and hours) recently, playing snippets of heavy rock songs on a very loud electric guitar, amp turned up to Vol5!

I play badly, very, very badly. But this is good! Because I'm doing a promo video for a spoof movie soundtrack played by someone who can't play, but is so incredibly bleeding famous it doesn't matter!

My musical daughter asked me today if I wanted her to teach me how to play 'proper chords'... That would totally ruin the video!

Kids just don't bleedin get art. smiley - winkeye

Your daughter has my total sympathy.

My dad couldn't carry a tune and was totally unmusical in a household with three pianists. My mom could play piano a little bit - in fact, she taught me to read music when I was six.

One Christmas, I bought my dad a 'teach yourself harmonica' book, tape, and harmonica (naturally). He listened to the tape, messed around for half an hour, and gave it up.

'You have to PRACTICE this thing,' he complained... I laughed.

This reminded me of those delightful kids, Two Set Violin, and their critique of Benedict Cumberbatch's fake violin playing.

I have, this very day, learnt... Not only the intro to Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath, but mixed in some church bells and a thunderstorm. If only Henry Letterbox had existed 20 years ago, I'd be bleedin Tony Iommi by now!

I rather like Black Sabbath. It was one of two or three heavy metal groups that I decided I could listen to without getting distraught. I never liked AC/DC, so there goes m credibility as a music lover. smiley - sadface

Sabbath would've been even bigger if it wasn't for Bexhill Bluegrass coming along!

I find this strongly reminiscent of some of the work of John Cage. smiley - rofl

I noticed that somebody on Youtube claimed his cat could perform John Cage's piece entitled 4'33".

Which consists of 4'33" of silence. smiley - winkeye

In this busy, noisy world, where so many people seem to love the sound of their own voices, it's harder than you'd think to get even that small amount of silence.
