t'other week, Plusnet my ISP said that the exchange I get my broadband via, was updating stuff and I'd get higher speeds at no extra costsmiley - laughsmiley - coolat the moment I'm now getting 11033/883 instead of around 8000/600smiley - smileydon't know if it'll go up any more ?
but they also said that fibre-optic is now available (but at extra monthlysmiley - winkeyeI don't need thatsmiley - laugh)I'm happy with what I've got for £14.95 per monthsmiley - biggrin

Hiya, thats not bad for copper cable. I get an average 15mb's wireless and slightly more wired. We have BT Infinity avaiable in this area now but the price will have to come down a lot before I even think about it. Happy with what I've got for now anyway. smiley - smiley

I don't download films or play multi-player online games either so no real need for faster speeds. Besides, on this ancient pc it would be pointless anyway as the processor and ram are too small to benefit from higher speeds anyway. smiley - biggrin

I've just had to curtail son, his mate put sky film thingy on his xbox, I got a email that my monthly allowance was nearly used (I've got a 15gig limit on it) and it's rare that I use that amount, so it keeps my monthly cost down

No, not quite. The techs will post a proper link when they're happy for all to be there. Currently its undergoing testing at all levels and what they don't want/need right now is a mass migration to it before its ready. smiley - biggrin

Hiya Prof, not sure about Ofcom wanting BT to sell off stuff, it's more to do with what BT charges other companies to use/piggyback off their network that Ofcom are dealing with. They've told BT to cut the cost to some while upping prices for others. BT have spent a small fortune on getting live Premier football rights. Got news for them, I won't be taking any any extra channels for chuffin football. smiley - biggrinsmiley - spaceI'll stick with what I've got which gives me the cricket, not interested in owt else and certainly not the Olympic nonesense we're being bombarded with. smiley - steam
Reet, off to set up me virtual PC on this beast. I'll be able to play me older games then. smiley - cool
Catch ya later. smiley - ok
