Well, stumbled across your page, and thought I'd say hi...
"hi"
The meaning of names..hmmm....
Well the leopard bit of my name comes from the fact that I have an infatuation the tackiness/sleaziness of leopardprint, and never used to be seen without at least a scrap of it on my personage when I was a goth. No comments about Bet Lynch please.
My name is Fynn, so that's where the last part comes from!
So Langly, did you watch the Lone Gunmen on sky last monday?

Hi there LSF, good to meet you
I've just had a quick peek at your page, I love the artwork. I'll be returning shortly to have a proper read.
Yes I did watch TLG last Monday and loved it. Haven't got satellite though, so i'm having to rely on my brother to record it for me, so hopefully he'll turn up tomorrow night with the second episode.

I didn't get to watch it tonight either... I'm staying with my folks at the moment, and tv viewing time is on a rota!
But my man has taped it and I'll get to see it at the weekend - hoorah!
I really enjoyed the show last week, but had qute a rant that sci fi channel was playing parent and not letting us see the 1st episode because it had some similarities to the events of Sept 11th. That day was terrible, but surely we, as intelligent (well almost!) adults can make our own decisions as to what we can watch?!? Is the whole world going to avoid making films about terrorism in case it offends someone? If that's the case, why are they still making films about World War II??
sorry about that, had to get it off my chest.
*purged now*
I particularly liked the bit in last week's episode where the fat one (can't remember his name) plays the kung fu (or should that be aikido?) master to that Japanese whaler...quality.

Couldn't agree more about them not showing episode 1. Sometimes people are so worried about not offending people that they don't think about the ones who are offended by them doing just that (if you see what I mean )!

Leopardskinfynn... sexy mama Posted Jul 9, 2002
I see what you mean, and I totally agree!
I was thinking of writing to Sci Fi just to see what they'd say, what do you reckon? Maybe we could persuade more people to write to them to see if we can get a response? Probably wouldn't be much more than "we're sorry, but its for the good of the public"...
Could start a campaign...
Getting carried away now....
*I'm such a complainer!*

I think you're right about the response we'd get, I think the only good writing would do would be to get it off our respective chests. Might as well just bitch about it on here, more likely to get a positive reply anyway

I'm a bit of a sci-fi, escapist fantasy telly watcher, none of yer gritty realism for me!
X Files, Buffy, TLG. I'm just starting to collect vids and DVDs of stuff I have enjoyed – Spaced (fantastic!), Hitch-hikers (just got the double DVD set and haven't watched it yet!), I've also got a fair few eps of Doctor Who.
I do have a bit of a soft spot for 70s/80s sitcoms – The Good Life, Dads Army, Porridge – timeless stuff that's still funny. I also love the Ealing comedies, The Ladykillers, Passport to Pimlico, The Lavender Hill Mob etc.
I think part of it is like a nostalgia for something I haven't actually experienced, but would love to have done
There are a couple of things I wish they would repeat, The Adventure Game and a sitcom called Get Some In, about National Service, though i'm sure if I saw them again, they wouldn't be half as good.

omigod! The adventure game! I thought that I was the only person in the whole world that remembered that programe! That used to be one of my favourites, along with Monkey, Blakes 7 and Space 1999...
Wouldn't it be great if they repeated the Adventture Game? Or made a new series? I'd sign up to go on the show....maybe we could have a Sci Fi Fan team...
But maybe it would spoil the whole thing if they made some more, eh?
Funny you should mention the Good Life...my bloke and I are thinking of building our own house (out of straw...not as bizarre as it sounds, believe me!), and we get called Tom and Barbara quite a bit.
Not so bad for me, seeing as Felicity Kendall was some sort of sex symbol back then, but Tom (was the actor's name Richard Briers???) in those jumpers?
I have to admit that I never really got into the whole Doctor Who phenomenon, which is seen as a bit weird if you're supposed to be a sci fi fan like me. I seem to remember as a kid hiding behind the sofa when the cybermen were on...maybe it scarred me or something. I did like the one off they did with one of the McGann brothers though - had kind of a gothic feel to it if I remember rightly.
Haven't seen Hitchhiers Guide for years, think its about time I fixed that.

Aaah, Space 1999, great stuff! I used to have a huge crush on Maya, the shapeshifting alien My friend was clearing out some of his old stuff the other day and found a model of an Eagle freighter, I was trying to scrounge it but he was having none of it!
I did find a website devoted to the Adventure Game, with video clips and stills, have to have a look for it. Uncle was my favourite character, I still can't walk past a potted plant without shaking it and making 'grrrrrr' noises
I saw Richard Briers in a play a couple of years ago, and all I could think about was "Wow, there's Tom Good, right there in front of me"

What a great way to deter unwanted callers.....
I'm back home at last, so I get to watch what I want to on my own tv! Hoorah! Watched the Lone Gunmen on Sky last night - I'm glad that the spin off has a sense of humour, and wasn't made in the same mood as the X-Files. After 9 (?) years of the X-Files, it was time to change pace just a little I think.
I was in Vancouver last year and walked past their set (they were filming in the street), so I'm keeping a close eye on the show just in case I pop up in the background.

I'm having trouble getting used to the comedy element of TLG, after the (mainly) seriousness of the XF, still great though
Did you see any of the stars whilst you were walking past?

I'm a big X Files fan, and I think that if TLG was made in the same vein, then it might have been too much - a bit overkill. I think that it was time for something a bit different.
I have to admit that I had problems with agent Doggett at first - I always thought that if either David Duchovny or Gillian Anderson were to leave the show, that it would be better to end it there and not try to substitute them.
Agent Doggett is growing on me though - especially after watching the show on sunday night on BBC2 were Mulder comes back and is all stroppy that Scully has another partner and acts like a jealous ex-lover.
I didn't really see very much of TLG shoot, but then again I didn't have my glasses on...
A bloke I met in Vancouver showed me around the city, and showed me the apartment which supposedly was Scully's in the 1st series - whether it was or not, I don't know, but it looked like it!

You're right, it would have been too much, and too 'samey' to the XF. I loved this Monday's episode. It managed to have plenty of comedy (though I cringed when the van fell into the ditch!) and then became quite poignant at the end, when they realised they couldn't show the water powered car to the world. Good one
This whole Mulder being back thing is getting confusing. Is he the real Mulder I wonder
Hey there
Leopardskinfynn... sexy mama Posted Jul 19, 2002
I thought that the last episode of TLG was great - although I have to admit to a dislike of Eve...I think her character is a bit shallow, and the actress is a bit wooden....pretty though.
As for Mulder, who knows if he is the real deal?
As long as David Duchovny is playing the character, I don't mind!

She doesn't seem to do much does she? apart from turn up mysteriously, usually wearing tight clothing, pouts a bit, flirts with Jimmy Bond then vanishes again. Do you think she could be anything to do with redressing the balance of male stars in the show
Crush on DD eh? and why not
