That's a fine location. Typically, they'll seed the esplanade and avoid mowing it through the spring for wildflower season.
That's not what they ended up doing here. I wish I had a photo of the rectangular, tilled, garden they've dug up in the middle of this esplanade. A big right-angled, quadrilateral, dirt plot right in the middle of a well manicured and recently mowed esplanade.

League City apparently doesn't really get the idea of a "wildflower project".

Looks like good weather for the weekend if I decide to go up to the Sherwood Faire. It'll be the shakedown cruise for my recently repaired caravan. I've spent way too much money on this last weekend I saw a 36' motor home in good condition (20 years old with only a hydraulic issue reported, estimated cost $300) for only $7000 obo. That's insanely cheap. I'm sure they'll get several offers and more than the asking price, but still. I was tempted to buy it just to turn around and sell it for a reasonable price. The owners were moving and it had to go. Still, I've payed well more than $7000 for my little 15 footer... SO FAR!

This current weather is brassing me off. It's chilly enough in the morning to require a jacket, but warm, even hot, enough in the afternoon for shirtsleeves. Layers weather, in other words. That's all very well in the morning when you're wearing all the layers, but where do you put the jacket in the afternoon if you use the buses to get to and from work? It certainly won't fit in the bag you use to carry your sandwiches etc. Well, you have to wear it even though it's 80°.

Definitely not layer weather today - the jacket will be needed on the way home this afternoon. A cold front arrived yesterday around noon and not only took the temperatures down but also stirred up the oak pollen with some gusts in the 25mph range Up until yesterday I hadn't had any problems with oak fever, dammit. And this morning it's chilly enough to have to put the heater on.

Damn chilly this morning. The thermostat was reading 63 when I switched on the heater. Apart from yesterday, when it was at 68 I think, it hasn't shown a temperature below 70 for a few weeks now. There have been a few 80s, even. I reckon we'll be back in that range by this time next if the forecast below is accurate.

A new record low at the airport this morning - 34°.

I don't know what the airport's record low is for today but the temperature there was 34° again an hour ago, and the next hourly recording should come up while I'm writing this, so I'll take it slowly.

And after near freezing conditions at the start of the week, we have considerably above average temperatures starting in only a few days. Yesterday I heard that the rain forecast for Saturday will be late in the day, after I get home from work. I hope it stays that way.

And the airport has gone back up to 35°. Which I've now found was the previous record for the date, so that's a second low record in a row for Bergstrom.
