I know that feeling BH It's pitch black here - 6:30pm. And being closer to the equator means that sunset is really fast.

I'm noticing dawn is getting a wee bit earlier: about 5am now. I kind of wish we had upside down daylight saving, so that we could get an extra hour of light in the evening through the summer. You'd have thought with the number of Poms here that they'd have sorted that one out, even in backwards Queensland

But this time next week it should be 20 degrees cooler Should be at least 10 degrees cooler tomorrow (Friday). One can but hope.

It's sunny here now There are still some big clumps of clouds hangin' around the horizons, but I think we're in for a warm weekend.

Bloody hell it's turned chilly! It's hovering around 61/16 but there's a very strong and very bracing wind blowing. A front came through around noon and shifted the wind around to north. It strengthened it a good deal too. Gonna get down to 45/7.2 tonight I think that's duvet territory. A few degrees colder tomorrow night

24C at 7am today was a bit on the warm side for my walk. No wind and very high humidity.

It got down to the upper 40s last night but warmed up pretty damn quick as soon as the sun came up and is currently a very pleasant 67/19.4 and sunny

But people are walking around Austin wrapped up like it's 20 below out there I went out this morning when it was just cresting 60° in exactly the same kind of clothes I've been wearing since spring - a pair of trousers, a t-shirt and a sleeveless shirt - but I encountered people on the bus wearing full winter garb. Woollens, coats, hats, gloves even.

Gonna drop into the 30s tonight though. Now *that's* getting cold.

You're a roughy toughy Brit, so no wonder you're in t-shirt and shorts in the cold weather

We've got clear skies (almost dark now - 6:15pm) and quite a lot of wind. There is thunder forecast, but it must be those isolated storms which rip across Australia, because at the moment there isn't a cloud to be seen

It was a very balmy 77/25 this afternoon with a clear blue sky Currently 62/16.6 at 11.30pm and forecast to get down to the mid 50s overnight. Last night however ABIA smashed a record as the temperature plummeted to just 1°F above freezing! It was 10°F warmer than that at Camp Mabry which is close to the centre of Austin, and it should be a further 10° warmer tonight. Small possibility of rain tomorrow (Thursday) and a few degrees cooler.

There's a very juicy looking line of storms making its way through northern Texas right now, lined up north east to south west and headed in a southeasterly direction - ie this way. Whether the far southern tip of it will continue to build and sweep across Austin later today is another matter of course and remains to be seen, but the forecasters are currently predicting a 60% chance of thunderstorms

Oh my goodness it's almost here, and has become a rather nasty looking squall line It's awfully windy at the mo.

It must be travelling pretty damn quick. It'll probably have passed by the time I have to leave for work in a little less than two hours, but I might get a soaking when I go to get the laundry out of the drier

We're under a severe thunderstorm warning too. Haven't seen one of those in many a month.

Oh jeez, here it comes It's suddenly (like in a matter of 30 seconds) gotten incredibly dark and the wind is blowing a gale - outflow boundary passing by. With a bit of luck it might pass through in the next 10 minutes, which is when I have to leave for work Can't hear any thunder yet though

I see vast amounts of darkness. This could mean one of two things:

1. Somebody went and pilfered the sun

or,

2. It's night now. (Looks at clock). Yeah, it's night, all right.
It's Autumn here in the Northeast U.S.
