5.35, and I'm just about to leave for work. It's 101 downtown and at Camp Mabry, but it's been as high as 102 at both sites so far today. 37% humidity and a heat index of 105.

I find numbers like that quite beyond my comprehension
I could never cope in such conditions. I'm sure I would want to spend 23 hours a day lying in a cold bath...

103° at Camp Mabry today and 104° at ABIA. Only one more day of this, thank Bob, before some seasonal weather comes to town. If the forecasters get it right it's going to be almost 20°F colder on Thursday, and there may even be some rain I reckon I can count on one hand the number of days that have been below normal temperatures since the beginning of June. I'm sure there have been hotter summers - I think there have been some years with 40+ or even 50+ days of temperatures of 100° or more Oy vey. Right now we have 24 at ABIA and 19 at Mabry. One more to come.

This should be the last time I have to say this for several months - another triple digit heat day today. I think that makes the total for the year 26 at the airport and 21 at Camp Mabry. Tomorrow morning will still be almost as warm as it has been for the past couple of months, but I can hardly wait to get up on Friday morning, open the door to the balcony and feel that cool(ish) air
I guess these reports will get kinda boring and mundane for a few months to come

I've just got up, had a shower, made a cup of tea and walked out onto the balcony....
It feels almost cold, even though it's 74F/23.3 After the past few months, and particularly the past week or two, that *is* cold! It's also completely overcast - first time for ages I haven't been able to see the sky. We didn't get any of the rain associated with the front that brought this cold air in - that happened just off to the east

And I just got back from a trip to the supermarket - I wasn't drenched in sweat when I put the key in the front door It's like a huge weight has been lifted off the whole of Texas.

It's only 73° downtown right now - that's a full 30° cooler than the same time yesterday Imagine it being freezing one day, and a pleasant 60°F/15.6°C the next. That's the degree of difference between yesterday and today.

I know the feeling. When I was in Childers the temp dropped over 20C overnight - from high 20s to below 10

It has been known - and is recorded in this thread - for the temperature in Austin to drop 30° in three hours as a winter front sweeps cold Canadian air through the state

Mist this morning, which was a surprise. Now it's mostly cleared (2pm) and there's high wafty cloud happening
The forecast temps of 30C+ over the weekend didn't eventuate. Now that I have a thermometer on the balcony, I can confirm that top temps were 28C. With a breeze wafting across the balcony it was delightful.. and it kept the mozzies away
Cooling down for you now BH?

Not really - it's been in the low 90s again and very humid Going to be that way for a few more days until we get normal temps again. We could see some rain though...
And pigs might fly.

Lovely cool morning today
I got up at 6 and went straight out for a walk to make the most of the peaceful start of the day
It'll reach 26C late morning/early afternoon. Sunshine of course.

Rain
Well, spotty showers anyway. It'll rain heavily for about a minute, dry up, remain clear for an hour, then rain for a minute, then dry up...
80% humidity and a heat index of 94°

Gonna be 94F/34.4C tomorrow (Wednesday) then 65/18.3 on Wednesday night, 75/23.9 on Thursday and 55/12.8 on Thursday night
Can this really be the end of the hot weather? Low 80s over the weekend and into early next week. That's almost tolerable

Talk about a sudden change in your weather BH
We don't seem to be having any spring at all. It's gone from low to mid 20s to high 20s/30s in a week 36C forecast for Saturday which will be .... erm.... interesting.

And by the looks of it we're not going to get much of an autumn this year Not that we ever do in these parts, but this year looks like being more autumn-less than usual.
