An Irishman or woman (to be politically correct, though I reckon unnessecary). Interests include Romell, El Alamein, Egyptian and Mayan Pyramids, Gate crashing, British Monarchy, Cocaine, alcohol and Parenting. Let me have a go at this puzzle.
1. Irish, stated as much.
2. Man, though there are some peculiarities on this one. Men usually are indifferent to Fashion, this one hates it. Men unless parents are indifferent to kids, this one wants to thrash them. But then one can hardly expect a woman to be interested in Romell, free alcohol, gate crashing and El Alamien
3. Age is 28-30. That is from the corporal punishment bit
4. Probably not a parent. Is presently in America, Born in Ireland. Can't say a thing about the shift.
5. Has suddenly a lot of time at hand, and is bored with it, tried a lot of things and is now back to h2g2. this suggests a student life. Possibly a student of history, that bit about developmental pyramids in egypt and maya is not superficial knowledge
6. Joined h2g2 in june 2000.

Hee, hee, not too bad at all!
Hating fashion: hmmm, what can I say, every paper or magazine or 'news' programme on the tv seems to be besotted with it. Indifference has slowly metamorphosed and gelled into an intense dislike of the vapid empty-headed nitwits who seem to inhabit the 'fashion world'. Where else would someone who's only talent is to swagger up and down on a stage be called 'super'??
Free alchohol: Stolen alchohol isn't free, its stolen. And when you're 19 or so, it tastes so much better than any other kind!
Thrashing kids: Not really, live and let live. It was the first post on that subject so I thought I'd put down something controversial to get the conversation going. Probably too far over the top. Anyhow, only noisy little darlings in bank/post office queues should be thrashed.
Shift: I work strange rotating shifts (in Dublin incidentally) and on nights there isn't really very much happening. I know I should study or something instead, but to be honest, most nights I know I simply won't take anything worthwhile in, so...
Egyptian pyramids: Met a chap recently who really and honest-to-God believes the Ancient Astronaut stuff. So I decided to write an essay concerning the subject.
Age: 34 (perhaps I gave the wrong date for the banning of corporal punishment in Ireland...)
I like your two available entries; both are well written and informative. I'd read the one about the sun some time back, but the entry on Delhi I hadn't seen before. Astrophysics and Indian history, hmmm....

Indian and Engineer; that I suppose would account well for both the entries put in. Studied at India and then left for greener pastures. I am right now in singapore. Nice orderly place, but a little boring, worse still, very expensive alcohol and cigarettes.
Delhi is where I spent most of my years, I still miss this grande Dame of Indian cities.
Key: Complain about this post
