I can't tell you, until you define "GY"
I live in Washington state, USA, if that's what you mean...

Thought you might live near me - Grimsby (GY) - but i guess not. I can't remember why i posted on your site now, evidently because you'd mentioned 'the mariners' which is the name of our local football team.

So what's life like if you don't live in GY then?

No, the Mariners are the major league baseball team of Seattle, which is in my area.

Life is almost depressingly normal over here; wet, cold, and windy. I'm dead tired from the musical I'm in, My Fair Lady, which tends to keep me at school till 22:30. And I have the latest form of Rhinovirus("nosevirus"- the common cold).

Other than that, I'm fine.

Isn't it nice to know Latin roots, though? Like /rhino/, which means nose, or /ceros/, which means horn(think triceratops, "three-horn-face"). It helps in trivia games, especially science and vocabulary.

right, Sylvia...ok...smiley - ermsmiley - smiley

Not wishing to be a pedant, but it's Greek actually.
Rhis, rhinos = Nose
Keras, keratos = Horn - which gave the name later to the matirial Keratin, which comprises horn, nails and hair.

A favorate word of mine is Nostalgia. We all know how we use the word, but what does it mean?

Nostos = Home (to return to)
Algos = Pain (originating in a specific place)

So it is the pain of returning home. And yet we use it almost exclsively to describe the past, a yearning for the past. Perhaps it says something both about the way in which we think of home, and how we romantise the past.
