...and back toward the zenith, where it belongs.
Flame Posted Apr 14, 2006
Hi,
Yes, we've had a bitterly cold, but dry winter. Although this area is one of the driest in the country, apparently we should be okay.
I expect in the future countries will be fighting over water - not oil.
Doing anything interesting this weekend?
I hope to go for a walk along the Norfolk Broads.........

If the weather cooperates, I can do some gardening and BBQing, but if not, I'll probably do some more work on my 'stupid' entry. No fiction in mind at this point....
Oh yeah, my taxes need to be done tomorrow...I always wait til the last minute. Doesn't take more than an hour to complete the federal and state forms. I think it's a subconscious form of disobedience. We tens of millions of last-minute filers all secretly hope that we can overload the government machinery.

I expect they will still take your money - in any way that they can!
The weather never cooperates here, so I'll probably have to wrap up warm - and I expect everyone will have the same idea as me tomorrow...

You know ever since I heard my rivers story is going to be printed I've found it really difficult to write anything. I'm still waiting to hear from the publisher - find out what changes he would like me to make. I really want to get it done and dusted so I can move on to something else.
I had to do a bio for the back of the book last week. Mine was very short and sweet. I expect some of the others will be very impressive.
Hmm, Easter eggs on Sunday. Yummy!

Yes, I can imagine the short bio:
"A female writer in the UK"...
Well, great minds think alike. I arrived home and found my sons preparing some meat for barbecuing. It's not quite raining, so we should be OK.

not quite that short. Almost - but not quite.
The weather is reasonable today - so I'm off for a walk along the north Norfolk coast. I'll let you know what it was like when I get back.
Have a good weekend!

I drove to Hunstanton, a seaside resort better known as ‘Sunny Hunny’ to us locals. The sun came out and made it just about warm enough to take my coat off. The crowds were out in force, folk eating ice-cream, and candy floss and sea food. A nice stroll along the pier, and then off to Burnham Market, a beautiful little village where Haratio Nelson was born. There wasn’t a car parking space in sight, so it was a leisurely drive along the coast road. Miles of marshy flats and in the distance I caught sight of twitchers from time to time. The coast road takes you through lots of picturesque villages, cattle and windmills dot the horizon. Next stop was an art gallery for a much needed cup of coffee. It was starting to get a little bit chilly - so headed back home.
Hello Norfolk in the springtime. Wonderful to see you again.

Hi X,
How are u?
The long weekend soon went.
Back to the reality today.

Xantief Posted Apr 18, 2006
Yes, weekends go by too quickly.
I had a slacker's holiday yesterday...my reflux kept me awake Sunday night, and I called in on Monday. The weather was fine (finally) and I was able to work outdoors a bit.
'Twitchers', I presume, are birdwatchers...? I caught the image of people standing randomly across the landscape, twitching...
Smile in the face of reality. Smiling confuses it. Reality, that is.

HA, yes, Some of them would make you twitch
Glad you're feeling better. I have a couple of friends who suffer with reflux - not nice.
Glad u feel better

For some reason, it bothers me most Sunday night...maybe I shouln't eat large dinners anymore.
I've eliminated tomatoes and other acidic things from my diet, but something inevitably sneaks past. I tried a variety of tablets and antacids, but the good ol' bicarb seems to work best.

A generous portion of meat can do it - apparently it’s quite hard to digest.
What's all this about stupid people?
Do stupid people really believe they are stupid? Or am I just being stupid?

Xantief Posted Apr 18, 2006
The dangerous ones refuse to believe that they're stupid. (I would use various US gov't members as examples, but never mind...) Anyone who occasionally wonders if they'd done something stupid, is better adjusted.
Intelligence is the trait of people who commit a specific stupidity only once.

Xantief Posted Apr 20, 2006
You're right about the meat. I've been giving myself a span of a few hours for digestion before I sleep, and that makes a difference. I must remember about not snacking before bedtime....

Hi
Fatty food, greasy food, too much food - the list is endless...
Talking about food - curry for dinner tonight. Mmmmmm - lovely!

Xantief Posted Apr 20, 2006
Curry is good.
My greatest worry is that I'd have to go to a vegan diet!
But it's not that bleak -- I'm still a threat to livestock.

It's good to hear from you, Pauline. I expect you've been pleasantly engaged (said with hope) in your RL pursuits. How's the newly published author doing?
I've been doing more EG stuff than anything else lately, but the Muse is once again active in the Stonecutter mode. What I'm writing now is a history/prequel for the story. It hinges more on Derwen's history, and the inevitable mythology of the locale. Ahh, the fanciful notions that lurk in the imagination...I confess to being even less organised than last time around, but the proverbial primal creative impulse will not suffer organisation...so it's OK.
