A huge time zone difference between Cali and Norfolk. As you are waking up - my day is already half over. That's a bit of a shame, but such is life.

Yesterday it was really hot here, and today it is much cooler and raining. We've had a very poor summer. Typical British weather! Us Brits do like to moan about the weather.

I am sure that I would have belonged to some sun-worshipping cult in those ancient days. Backyard sun-bathing is fairly popular here, as well as nude beaches. I have reason to be thankful for the Cali climate. Just keep the head cool, and the 100-degree heat becomes comfortable. Once summer sets in here in the Valley, the only cooling influence is the occasional 'delta breeze', flowing in from the San Francisco direction.

I remember the turbulent weather in Germany, and understand the many different forces acting upon Brittania. (Is that the right name for the Big Island, BTW?) It doesn't seem proper, not being able to plan on a continuing spell of fine weather.

From this point on in the story, the plot options become very limited. I need to exercise some prudence, lest the story rush off on a tangent. I will shortly introduce Ran to Lys, a young Dreamer and powerful Singer. The Dreamer clan will have its exposition, as well.... The story has me hooked.

I'm not much of a sun worshipper. I love to see the fine, sunny weather, but I'm not fond of spending time in the heat. I think I'm more of a moon child.

The correct name for the UK is Britian. But Brittania can mean the land of the Britons or The island of Britain. It's an old Roman name.

I'm looking forward to reading more of your story. It's a great tale.

I've been afflicted over the last few days by a summer cold. The worst kind.

In spite of that, I think I rendered Derwen as well as I had hoped.

I love Lys already. The next chapter will be light-hearted.
