h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I've volunteered to "polish" your excellent article...Fireworks: a short play"

They seemed to be rather short-handed, in the mines,and this is one of my first gem-polishing assignments.

You can see what I'm doing at A4795860.

I may make several suggestions...or not. Mostly I will be cleaning up your GuideML to put it in a more preferred form. I won't make any other changes without your consent.

Just to let you know, I'm working on your article to get it on the front page as quickly as possible. (Actually you got my one miner's vote for this very funny and timely short play).

1. They..the h2g2 editors...seem to like links..what do you think about a link or two to the actual comet impact event...somewhere where it would not be distracting?

2. Mind if I make SISA and Sisa consistently uppercase?

No problems with 1. or 2., Phred. I might suggest the NASA/JPL link for Deep Impact.

(Also maybe a link to Marvin the Martian?)

You know, I think I have listed you in the article being polished in such a way that you can actually do edits at this point...care to help me if you really think these are good suggestions?

forget the (sneer) fiASco that just occurred today..is capital AS intentional? Needs two SS?

'Fiasco' was emphasised absurdly.

'...couple *of* people' is good.

Look at this A4795860 please.

1. I assumed that you spelled conspiriatorially wrong accidentally and Strategery Centre wrong on purpose? Right?

2. I put the Alien conversations in blockquotes and italics to set them off. OK?

3. After look at serveral short plays I changed this form:
PREZ: Yeahaw
To this form:
REEZ, Yeahaw
OK?

4. Most of my other changes were to add three links (can I change AU to Astronomical Units?) and to change all the to the preferred form of enclosed paragraphs.

Why don't you take a look, give me some feedback and let me know if you're ready for the Front Page?

I like the Marvin, but changed my mind. I rather think Bugs Bunny should be captain, with Cheech as Systems and Chong as Helm. Can we work with that?

Do I need to wear a tie to be on the FP?

Ties?...Only as headbands. I still have a nice paisley tie from back in the day.

Off it goes as our humble submission to the h2g2 gods. This is my 2nd Underguide polishing job...the first one was on the front page hours later....so dig out that paisley tie and adorn yourself as you see fit...sheilds u...

Just to warn you...we may get a ration of cr*p for using celebrity pix due to legal issues...if so, we'll regroup.

I thought that the simple fact that there's a link involved, absolves us of any 'possession' issues.

TPTB, of course, have the final decision.

Which brings to mind...In the Mencken piece, (which is as good now as I can get it) I used some linx to photos from the Pratt Library page. I thought the rationale was, you essentially have to visit the Pratt Library's turf to see them.

But no problem. I can work with it.
