Hey Sal,
You seem to have managed to upset the moderators with your last post on my page! Seems ironic given that one of the last things we were talking about was how unlikely this moderation thing was to impact on anything we might want to say....
Curiouser and curiouser.
Speak to you soon

Absolutely nothing offensive or inaccurate (I don't think). It was about foot and mouth disease of course - and most of the stuff in it was information I got from various BBC News programmes so if that's what's being censored then the BBC's censoring itself. I mentioned a "get around" for letting people know your URLs. But I saw that over at the feedback forum and it had been there for a little while so they hadn't moderated that.
No sorry, I have absolutely no idea why they removed it. There's an email address on my home page. If you have an email address you use for miscellaneous stuff like this, email me that address and I'll send you a copy of the message. You'll be astonished at how completely benign and inoffensive it is. It'll worry you - probably.

Hi again, Sal. They are certainly overdoing it! Just now I have been over at another forum where we have been talking about religion. Someone I know was talking about de-converting from Christianity, and I asked her for details. So she outlined her life story, probably at length, but it was immediately moderated! She afterwards also complained that she couldn't see how anything in her post could have been considered offensive, unless not being a Christian, or being critical of Christian doctrine, can be considered offensive.

I've just read the copy of your message on Yahoo and am baffled and saddened at its removal. I can see nothing whatever that could contravene 'house rules' and can only hope that your message is reinstated when Peta/Abi et al come across the referral. If not, I am deeply worried about the future of the Guide. I am fully aware that the BBC is the only thing preventing H2G2 disappearing but I have to ask myself what price I am prepared to pay.
I will make a note of your email address but in this case I am content for my unease and disappointment to be registered here, where the moderators can take note.

Well at least your referred messages have returned although that's small comfort unless you've received an explanation and ideally an apology for their temporary displacement. However, I see your note on the moderation helpline has remained unanswered which doesn't bode well for any personal response to you.
I hope you've not gone out, unplugged the gas, turned the water off at the stopcock and disappeared into the wide blue yonder for good. My optimistic nature is trying very hard to convince me that this moderation lark WILL settle down and I sincerely hope there will still be some thoughtful, well-informed, interesting people around to talk to by that time.
Key: Complain about this post
