I saw your personal page. My, what fantastic flying saucers you have! You mentioned that you were too shy to post, but are you also too shy to respond? A bit of a challange, you see. Thought I'd ask anyway. smiley - biggrin

Too shy to post, too frightened of being thought rude to not post. So you have set a good challenge. smiley - tongueout

The next challenge is what small talk to make. So I will also thank you for the compliment about the flying saucers. From the date on the page (over five years ago smiley - bigeyes) it looks as though I created them and then forgotten about it.

And what are the Lincoln Logs, which you mention on your page?

They are (or were, as they are not made anymore) peices of wood of verious lengths, all about as big around as your thumb, and notched at each end. You used them to build log cabins and such. The notches were all interlocking. There were also roof tiles and chimneys you could place on your cabin. Very fun as a child, and one of the big reasons I got into construction (and love it the way I do).
There was a large part of my life that I thought that I would be a writer, But found that building houses was ultimately easier than building sentances. And you don't have to worry so much about the spelling!smiley - biggrin

Heh, it sounds like wooden Lego, and therefore fun (or at least, the way Lego was - it seems hard to find big boxes of ordinary bricks now).

I'm not sure I'd agree that building houses is easier than building sentences. Get a sentence in the wrong order and you just confuse people. Building a house in the wrong order might get people a bit more annoyed. smiley - bigeyes But then I'm not very good at putting things together with my hands. Lego is stretching my abilities somewhat. smiley - winkeye

I guess you could say that the concept of Lincoln Logs and Legos is about the same. You build things with both.

As for our sentence/ouse building conversation, you're right. A poorly built house is more annoying to most people than a poorly built sentence. My point was that sometimes it seems easier for me to build a house than construct a proper (and interesting) sentence. Meaning that I feel more confidant in my construction skills than my writing skills. Perhaps I should get my architect friend to start drawing up plans for my sentences. toosmiley - biggrin. That might help. Then again, it might not.

I was really happy around Christmastime to actually find a big box of regular legos for my 3 year old daughter. The kind that come in the big red tub with little doors and windows so you can make houses. I ended up playing with them more than she did.smiley - erm
