Hello! Good to see you too -- how have you been?
I'm pretty good, done school again for the year and eagerly looking forward to move-in for the next! living at him has its little tortures.
I'm pretty much spending the summer doing nothing! :/ But that has it's ups as well as its downs -- I get to relax... for free!? :P
How about you?

Well, I've moved back to England from Australia ... still acclimatising - having a great time catching up on all the s I've missed. Hehehe.

Oh i see! Why have you moved back? I think I remember you were there for work?? hehehe and catching up on !? It seems to me Australians fancy themselves heavier drinkers than Brits! .... although perhaps that's only in the east side of the continent!?

The Aussies indeed do fancy themselves as beer drinkers. They are deluded by the number of Aussie beers they can drink. When they visit the UK they are taken by surprise at the strength of the native brews, with oft hilarious results.
So yes ... actually back here for the lifestyle ... but have to work to support it. . Am about to move into a building that's 1200 years old - it used to be a Saxon chapel - and find out what my piano sounds like in there!

hehehe poor silly aussies! Is that because of their little stubby beer bottles that they think they're drinking more than eveyrone else, or just the strength of the brews? hehe Too-drunk aussies would be funny, funnier than aussies in their normal state!
Wow, 1200 year old building!! Do tell! Especially since you mention the acoustics! Have you discovered the sound yet? Is it like, YOUR building, or does it have multiple apartments?

It's mainly the lack of alcohol in the small stubby bottles ... and yes, in a pickled state they are an improvement on "normal" .
Well, we're moved into the chapel now - and the acoustics are great. No, it's not apartments - just one house. They didn't build big in those days - it's what they call a "single-cell" chapel. Originally it was just a one-room building, with a floor plan of about 20' x 14' . In the 1500s someone put floors and a window in .. thus creating 3 rooms vertically stacked ... and that's about it. There are just 4 examples of this age & type still left. One is a ruin, one is still in use as a church, another (larger) is a museum ... and there's this place, which we are going to look after real well. Right now, I have weeks of work just to get my fingers remembering how to play.

Wow, that just sounds so cool! How on earth does one go about getting such unique and interesting places to live!
hehehe playing a piano is just like riding a bike, you never forget how... or so they say... I'm really hoping it's true, since I keep wanting to get back into practice but I haven't had the energy with school...
It's a couple weeks since I've been around, I went up to Toronto for the Stones, and then to my sister's in New Brunswick, so it's been a busy week, the most exciting for this summer! hehe How has it been going for you in the new place and such?

It's been very mixed in pace. Days of being very busy, then days of waiting for other people/bureaucracy to catch up. Funniest instance was having to wait 4 days for a quote for insuring the building ... because the insurance company's computer couldn't accept a year (for age of building) with less than 4 digits in it
Getting the place was great good fortune. We happened to be renting a house in this town, and had decided it would be a great town to live in. We had read some local history books, one of which mentioned the Saxon Chapel. We went exploring and located it. Two days later we heard it was going to go up for sale, and we rushed in and bought it. (Too small, too few rooms, but you couldn't leave it, could you?).
The piano dominates the main room ... but the acoustics are great ... and yes, you're right, it isn't taking too long to get back in the swing of playing.
