h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Okay, I started an adventure a while ago (actually, I hijacked one). The cleaning bot in the Cafe went berserk and everyone fled the Cafe. The bot followed, going outside for the first time. It kinda went crazy, seeing all the dirt and started sucking at the ground. The ground gave way and it fell into some unknown tunnel, near where everyone was hiding (this part was a bit confused). Enter GL.

The thread continued for quite some time, but I was the only one really contributing plot. I even posted an saying that people should feel free to play with the plot, which resulted in Irv doing something non-reactive, but that was the end of it. Eventually, I stopped posting to see what would happen, and the thread just died. So, if you could stomache a bit of a read to get the backlog, I'm sure there is a way to insert you into the story. There are some good bits in it that could be exploited: at one point, the font in the subject line got screwed up and I invented a font vortex to account for it and warned about getting too close to it, but it hasn't been used yet and could be fun. Also, I invented a portable hole that we stuck on a wall and climbed through. I think I reached back through the hole and peeled it off the wall, so it is still in my inventory and could have some use. The cleaning bot has only posted a couple of times, so the original impetus for the adventure is gone, unless we come up with something else. I did have some shadowy things following us, but I haven't mentioned them in a while.

So, lots of scope for things to do. It just needs a true adventurer besides myself. I thought it would be okay, because several good players were there: Irv, Yar and d'E, but d'E stopped posting and the other two seemed content to just follow along without steering the plot at all.
