Travel Writing Challenge?

Having read Dmitri's witty article 'Lamenting Readers and Adverbial Writers: Read this Quickly', I wondered if there was a case for a travel writing challenge.
It might start with Dmitri's parody about climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and ask for a description of a place, any place. But the aim would be to make it as vivid an account as possible.

I went fell-climbing the other day. The rain was all in day-glo colours, the rocks and soil were so vivid it was blinding,
and I fell off. My blood was a very bright psychedelic red and it was
everywhere, even up my nose. They named a brand new multicoloured river after me.
