I don't use social bookmarking sites to promote my *own* stuff - it feels like cheating.
But I do have some banners for various webcomics sites and so on

Promoting your own stuff isn't cheating! Everyone's self promoting, if you don't so any, nobody will find it and tell people about it.

"Everyone does it" is hardly the best argument. But I suppose if I honestly say that it's my own stuff...
