I have been unable to log into this account for some years and have had to create a new identity in order to write this. I would really like the original account to be deleted and all my guide entries (edited and unedited) removed from the site, as I no longer wish them to appear online. I can prove my ownership of each article as I still have some of the original approval emails sent to me in the pre-BBC era. If anyone can help me with this, please let me know. Many thanks. MDS

MDS,
If you have received one of the BBC emails sent out last week, you can click on the link provided and your account will be deleted from the list to the new H2G2.
I am sorry you feel unable to come along with us
Best wishes to you

Unfortunately, this account doesn't seem to be linked to an email account any more. If it had been I would have reset the password years ago. I am using a different email address now (though the old one is still active) and it is only the new address that has received any emails. If I click on the link in that one it will only delete the new account - the one I am writing this with - not U137575. And it is U137575 I want deleted, particularly my edited Guide entries, which I definitely do not wish to appear on the new site. All the best, MDS

Okay, I understand your problem. Please read my journal, it gives a copy of the last BBC email received - the final paragraph gives you an email address you can contact.
You might need to give some proof that the original account was yours ie email address, password, or something else only you and the BBC would know.
Also, if you can't receive any emails for that account, then you won't receive the next one which requires a reply to open the encrypted account to the new owners. I is my belief that after a time the BBC will close out the encryptions and all unclaimed accounts will become dormant within the BBC archives.
I hope this helps you. Please let me know how you get on
