Titania (gone for lunch)

Having dabbled at poetry and some series of short stories in English, I'm thinking of attending a course of 'Creative Writing and Narrative Theory'

42 days left until it starts - might that be a sign?

It costs quite a lot though. Right now, I'm debating with myself if this is a thing I really, really want.

It might be. Or I might do fine on my own. But considering the rather cheap stuff I've written when it comes to fiction, both for smiley - thepost and for NaJoPoMo (not this year) I'm curious if this course might improve my writing skills.

Oh go for it! I'm sure you'll enjoy it, and be a right pain for the teacher(s), questioning everything!

Yes, good luck too. I'm sure your English is perfect, so I hope the quality of the writing course matches up with your skills.

Hmmm, "Coures Goals"? Can you trust a school that opens words like these? smiley - winkeye

Thanks Pierce, I've sent them an e-mail asking if the course leader has proofread the course description since it contains spelling error/s (the Swedish word is the same for singular and plural) smiley - devil

And I just realized that the course description is entirely in English, so no need to know Swedish in order to read what I linked to in my first posting smiley - laugh

h2g2 has had a great impact on my writing skills in English. If someone had told me... *counts on fingers* 14 years ago that I'd be writing poems, entries and short stories in English, I'd have laughed at them.

Same here smiley - ok

And we all make mistakes. I know I do. Like the missing word "with" in posting 4 smiley - blush

So don't be too hard on them smiley - biggrin

Odd that they haven't replied to my e-mail pointing out the spelling error - and the spelling error itself hasn't been corrected either.

They'd better show *some kind of response, or I might just ditch the whole idea.

19 days ago since I sent the e-mail, still no reply.

Meanwhile, I'm reading more books by Trudy Canavan. Here's a phrase that is quite simple but contains so much:

'She only hoped those people would still be alive to care for.'

Titania (gone for lunch)

Exactly three weeks ago since I e-mailed about the spelling error/s - no reply, no correction.

I seem to remember some (free) online courses in how to write fiction. I might be looking for those instead.

While I'm mostly an agreeable person who doesn't want to cause a lot of fuss, being completely ignored isn't going to endear me. At all.

Now I'm thinking of a different course; Short story and poetry workshop (just two days):

http://www.folkuniversitetet.se/Kurser--Utbildningar/Kommunikation-Skrivande-Media/Skrivarkurs/Stockholm/Short-story-and-poetry-workshop/?sr=true

Still the same spelling error in the first subtitle though smiley - laugh

Considering how very busy I've been lately, and how long my w*rking days have been, a crash course over a weekend might be much more doable than ten Monday evenings.

And I do enjoy writing 'poetry'.
