My LCHF diet

Today, I had a 'paleo salad' for breakfast and, quite frankly, I didn't expect to stay satisfied for this long (8 hours and ticking).
Simple and delicious, for 1 person:
2 hard boiled eggs
½ package of thinly sliced bacon (60 gr or so)
1 avocado
5 cherry tomatoes
Quarter tomatoes and eggs, cut the avocado into cubes, fry the bacon until it's crispy then crumble it on top of it all.
Next time I think I might sprinkle a bit of herbal salt before adding the bacon though.

And once I got hungry, I got *really hungry very quickly.
I think that might be one of the main differences between Paleo and LCHF - because on LCHF, I get hungry very slowly, so have lots of time to prepare the next meal - like in 2-3 hours or so.
I was thinking of topping the Paleo salad with aioli or olive oil or something, but thought I'd try it as it was. I wonder if some Feta cheese might have helped me stay satisfied longer and growing hungry slower?

I was going to write a long story about my morning, but will restrict it to this: No breakfast (health check) or coffee, and no lunch until 12.30 (at a lunch reastaurant, with Peewee) gave me a mad migraine. Coffee after lunch, and pain killers helped just enough to be able to drive home, get my migraine spray and go to bed. I do need breakfast, none of this nonesense anymore.

Had the Paleo salad again, but this time with my 'zingy' dressing:
Chop one clove of garlic finely
Add chili flakes
Add the juice from ½ lime
Marinate
Add a bit of sesame seed oil (if you like the nutty flavour)
Add olive oil and sea salt according to your taste - taste often while stirring it in.

I've lost an inch or two around bum and waist again! One size smaller jeans, again.
A Swedish night radio channel recently hosted a breakfast competition, and I bet the winner eats the LCHF way.
Scrambled eggs with cream and cheddar cheese, 1 avocado, a couple of slices of smoked ham, tomatoes.

And now I need to eat more again, getting hungrier.

I've been eating the 'paleo salad' a lot lately, varying the ingredients a bit, but alwasy keeping the egg, avocado and tomato.
It doesn't fill me up for long, even if I add olives, Feta cheese, oily dressing - but it leaves my stomach feeling unusually flat. I wonder what it is on my other foods that makes it a bit swollen?

Yet another version of the paleo salad. I had egg, I had bacon, but was out of avocado and tomatoes.
So I added diced Feta cheese and an almost over-ripe nectarine cut into wedges.
Feta + nectarine =
It's a perfect match!

Interesting, I notice a different pattern this time.
Usually, it goes like this:
1. Getting hungrier, having to add a snack or an entire meal per day.
2. Drop in weight, often considerably enough to tighten my belt one more hole or, in some cases, getting into trousers one size smaller.
3. Eating less again.
This time around, it was.
1. Drop in weight.
2. Hungry!
3. It took a remarkably short time for my body to accept that no, I'm not starving.
This morning, my breakfast consisted of 1 avocado, 1 nectarine and 2/3 of a small package of Feta cheese, with some olive oil drizzled on top, herbal salt, black pepper.
I hadn't eaten more than half of it before I was full.
Other news: I recently tried Kombucha (fermented tea) for the very first time. For my Swedish friends:

I've always had problems with constipation, but drinking just a little (1/3 of the bottle in the link) for three days in a row resulted in no. 2 each of those days.
Must remember to try it again next time I feel constipated.

I have stuck into a rather unhealty rut I think. Working at home, so not walking or exercising as I ought. Yoga is lovely, but only once a week. Not very much for breakfast, sandwich with mayo and tomatoes, and coffee with cream. Usually I'm not hungry until two or three in the afternoon. Eat something light (eggs, sandwich, leftovers, whatever I find), and then cook something for the kids in the evening. If I just had moved more, I might have stayed the same, or even lost weight. But I'm slowly gaining.
Oh well. Now that snow is finally receding (not gone yet, mind) perhaps the outdoors will feel more interesting.

Milla, when w*rking from home, I think you need to create a firm schedule, including getting out and get some fresh air. Myself, I find it so easy to overdo the w*rk bit when w*rking from home and forget about pretty much the rest.
We use MS Outlook at w*rk, so when I'm w*rking from home, I make 'appointments' with myself in order to remember to do something else other than w*rk every now and then.
Uhm... that sandwich? Is that 'real' bread? As in fast carbs? Because combining fast carbs with fat is just about the worse thing you can do. It will most likely lead to gaining weight. And no, wholegrain or sourdough won't make the combination any healthier.
There's a diet (I've forgotten the name) where you separate protein and carbs so that you avoid combining the two in one and the same meal. Fat should be added to the protein part, not the carb part.

Yes. Ordinary bread *hangs head in shame* I know it's bad. We should have a shame smiley...
Yes, perhaps I should make myself schedules. I keep having bad conscience for not finishing anything, procrastinating when there is no hurry, and consequently not feeling like I deserve a proper break. Thanks for putting some new thoughts in my head!

Argh, is this springtime?
Fresh green asparagus sprouting new sprouts (thereby destroying the delicate tops), nectarines growing rotten from the inside and out, avocados going bad even though they feel firm?

*desperately trying to stop another bunch of fresh green asparagus to sprout, but to no avail*
'Blinis' for dinner tonight.
Whisp an egg, drop a big pinch of shredded (long shreds) cheese into it, fish up the cheese and fry it on both sides in butter.
Add smetana on top.
Finely chop some red onion and mash it together with sea salt. Add the mix on top of the smetana.
Add a spoon of whitefish roe on top.

Hungryyyyy!
Tuesday, I started off with 2 cups of coffee with coconut oil and cream and a hard boiled egg with butter and herbal salt. I had brought ingredients for a salad to w*rk, but got hungry 1 hour earlier than usual - very hungry. Instead of the salad, I bought myself a Lebanese take-away meal.
Made the salad for dinner instead, but added more stuff because I was really hungry again.
Wednesday I felt I was eating all day; bacon, eggs, cheese, sourcream - no matter what I stuffed myself with, I soon got hungry again.
And now, 5 am Thursday (that summertime transition (?) really messed up my sleep pattern) I'm ravenous yet again. I have a smoked mackerel in the fridge, an avocado, a hard boiled egg, tomatoes, onion, olives - it looks like it's going to be a salad again.
My salads these days are always mixed with my 'zingy' dressing. I've grown quite fond of chili lately. And lime.
I do hope all this hunger results in another weight drop soon.
