Nonnie
Well, the Lasix has a nasty side effect that I experience if I take it every day, so I don't - I take it 3-4 days per week.
The side effect?
Hold on...
It gives you edema!

And potassium deficiency - that has happened to me once so far, bad enough for my to prescribe supplement.

Finally, the Pure fresh pineapple juice from Danish brewery Harboe is back in the supermarkets!
http://www.harboepure.dk/
The pineapple juice acts like a very strong natural diuretic for me - but that is the only brand of juice available in Sweden that has that effect (believe me, I've tried finding a substitute for it during the time of the year that it's not available, brand after brand, but no).
Having weaned myself off sugar by eating the LCHF way, I find it a bit too sweet for my current taste, but I mix about 1/5 pineapple juice with 4/5 plain water.
Tonight, one latte glass of it blended with water had me running to the bathroom less than one hour later.
Earlier today, I came across - on one of the LCHF forums - a recipe for a diuretic drink including boiling water, lemons and fresh ginger. Since that mixture would probably contain far less fructose, I'm thinking of giving it a try.
And if it doesn't w*rk, I'll stick with the pineapple juice as long as it's available.

Just the other evening, I came across a blogger suggesting celery stalks filled with 'creamy-stuff-of-your-choise' as a healthy snack.
Now, I'm not a great fan of celery, but I was reminded of a dip I tasted several years ago that went great with celery.
I happened to have one of my favourite mouldy cheeses in the fridge (St Agur) and creme fraiche flavoured with roasted garlic and thyme (a recent new favourite), so I mashed them up and filled a stalk with it.
While googling for nutritional values of celery, I came across
http://www.whfoods.com/genpage.php?tname=foodspice&dbid=14
and I quote:
'Diuretic Activity
The seeds of celery's wild ancestors, which originated around the Mediterranean, were widely used as a diuretic. Today, we understand how celery, which is rich in both potassium and sodium, the minerals most important for regulating fluid balance, stimulates urine production, thus helping to rid the body of excess fluid.'

Those of you that have read my NaJoPoMo postings will know that I've seen an odd light (see <./>F22118128?thread=8298073 or, if you're using Pliny, http://h2g2.com/dna/h2g2/classic/F22118128?thread=8298073 ) This morning, while I lay in bed after hitting the snooze button, feeling queasy (so yes, I was certainly awake) I saw the light approaching me again. This time it burnt so brightly that it left spots in my vision - on the inside of my eyelids... Afterwards, the queasiness was gone. But the oddest thing of all was when I put on my winter boots - and managed to pull the zipper all the way up! My ankles weren't swollen a-t a-l-l. I haven't been able to do that for the last few winters - some mornings I can't pull the zipper up even a little bit. The boot looks something like this, and has a zipper on the inside of the ankle: http://www.jula.se/mediaarchive/6146548/main/901645-jpg.jpg

I managed to pull the zippers up all the way when getting dressed to leave w*rk as well!
However, it is a decreasing of the swelling, it's not completely gone. Found this out when I got home and pulled out a pair of (neat) boots that I haven't been able to wear for ages.
Nope, still a little too swollen for those.
But it's definitely a change for the better - I just hope it lasts.
And I do hope the light will return again, it does seem to have some nice effects on my body.

Another visit from the light this morning after I had woken up one hour before the alarm.
Three days in a row without diuretics. Carefully optimistic.

After five days without diuretics I got swollen again, so had to start taking them again -
This morning (Tuesday 27 November) the light visited me yet again. This time, it was quite bright but a bit more yellow in colour - last time it was this bright, it was almost white.
My tennis elbow is starting to give me trouble again, so last night after going to bed, I tried 'healing' it by simply putting my hand on the spot that hurt the most.
And I could feel my pulse beating in my arm - or something pulsating, at least. It was an odd feeling.
I lay there for some time and, after a while, my arm started hurting less and less. It could simply have been the warmth from my hand.
I tried doing it today, after the light had left, but couldn't somehow 'get into gear' or the mood, rather. It feels as if I have to find the right frameset for my mind before I can attempt it again.

'Treated' my tennis elbow last night after I had gone to bed. I noticed that the 'pulse' feels stronger the closer I get to the area that hurts the most (since I don't press, just stroke very lightly, I can't feel exactly where it hurts). This should be useful if I ever feel confident enough to 'lay my hands' on somebody else.
This morning, I woke up shortly after 3 am. Didn't manage to completely clear my nose until almost 4 am. When I went back to bed and closed my eyes, the light had arrived.
This time, it was very bright and also *very close - so close it almost filled my full area of vision. I actually had trouble not to look at it and also, I couldn't keep my eyelids from fluttering because the light was so strong. A couple of times, I even opened my eyes, but as soon as I closed them, the light was there.
It stayed with me for what seemed like a very long time - I even fell asleep and, when the alarm went off, it was still there!
The days the light doesn't come visiting, I actually miss it. And falling asleep while it's practically hovering in my face probably means I feel completely safe in its presence by now.

When you feel like it, you could practice distance healing on my neck I could use some 'fixing' at the C6 vertebra. I wish I had the same experience.

I think I'd have trouble visualizing your neck - I might have to manhandle a few of my colleagues to get the feel for it

Yesterday (Wednesday) morning, I could pull the zipper of my boots up halfway.
No diuretic.
Leaving w*rk, I could pull them all the way up.
Was unable to get into the right mindset to 'heal' my arm last night. It's a bit tricky.
Night towards today (Thursday) I went to bed early, so woke up from clogged up nose earlier, at 2.30. Got up, tried to clear it, went back to bed, no light.
Not enough clearing up, got up again and stayed up until nose was clear, went to bed at 3.30 and, as I closed my eyes, I found the light waiting for me.
Zippers pulled all the way up.

So... obiously neither the light nor my own efforts have any effect on bacteria nor bacillus.
I'm thinking those are too abstract to be able to track/trace to a specific body part.

No light for three days (or nights) until early Monday morning, when my alarm went off (at 6 am) and I hit snooze for 10 minutes and, the moment I closed my eyes, there it was again.
I did feel a bit stressed, knowing I'd have to get up soon, so I'm not sure it was the best of moments.
Also, last night, I tried 'treating' my left arm that was hurting again (from overuse of keyboard control combinations) but in the end, the 'pulsing' got so strong and so painful, I had to give it up.
This whole thing is a lot trickier than it would seem - so many aspects, and so many 'moods' to match.

Well, it feels a bit like trying to tune an instrument without being quite sure what it *really is supposed to sound like.
Short but very intense visit by the light Tuseday morning. Able to pull the boot zippers all the way up again. A combination of 'light treatment' and diuretics seems to be having the best effect.

Only very brief visits by the ligth recently - barely enough time for me to take it in. I wonder what that means?
'Heal thyself, dammit!'?
Been googling like crazy trying to find something similar, and the closest thing I've found is Reiki - but they claim they can *teach you, and that's not at all what I'm looking for.
I'm looking for someone who can *explain it to me.

Message sent of to uncle - lets see when he gets back to me. Neither he nor I are very regular FB users, only once in a while. Today, I found a message from one (out of six) aunts posted on 27 November. Ho hum.
