Hallo??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Are you still there?
kabads Posted Jul 14, 2001
Yep, I'm still here, althought things are pretty hectic - it's the last full week of school in UK this week, which means us teachers have to get all our work out of the way - once the kids have gone home, we can't get them to do the work they've got to do.
Apart from that, I'm still plodding on. Not much time to contribute here though, although I read a lot of others contributions.
What about you? Are you busy?

Oh, BTW, I just read about your Arppegio incident! Wow, you really know how to make the headlines!

Erm...yes. I didn't mean to. It was rather stupid of me and a bit of a nuisance.
I'm busy
I'm also trying to get the hang of this new peer review system

I don't think you were silly, I think you were right in what you said - that writing is awful and hard to understand. And as for someone being 4 years old - I find that very hard to believe.
The new peer review thing looks more simple than the old one. With the old one, you had to put it in the calendar and then post that you'd picked it, which took time. Whereas, I think, you just click recommend and then you get an email back telling you if it was accepted. It stops people from picking the same one and automates the whole thing.

Yes, I get the new Peer Review system now. I've got to make my picks today except someone already picked one of them

kabads Posted Jul 17, 2001
There should be loads that haven't beeen picked. If I have time (which I probably won't) I;'ll suggest one for you.

Well I've done two and I'm desperately trying to find a third.

Have you seen the unscouted list on the egroups mailing list? Often, mark or one of the better scouts posts up a whole list of unscouted entries, and you can go through those searching for them. But remember, they've got to have been in peer review for more than a week.

What were your picks in the end? With the old system, I would have seen them, but with this one, it's impossible.

What were yours?

Cocoa Bean Trophy
Charles Bukowksi - a poet
and Buzzcocks - the band.
You went for the Lady Diana one? Was it accepted? There was a little debate about that one.

I'll go and find them...maybe
Yes, all 3 were accepted. What was wrong with it? I thought the content was good but I found some ways which it would have read better - but I was too lazy to point half of them out - I didn't want to sound like I was too picky

How are things going? We've had quite a bit of news - our boys are due to be on TV in a few weeks time, with a drama program that they took part in. What have you been up to?

Hi
I haven't been doing much IRL or on h2g2, but I'm going gliding for a week, and school will be finished for the year soon so we have summer/Christmas holidays.
Were they really on TV? Cool! What did they do in the drama program? Which drama program? How did they do it?

The programme still hasn't been on, although it should be in the next couple of weeks (we're hoping that it's a week on Monday).
We were in touch with an agency which deals with twins and triplets in the production industry (which we saw advertised in a twins magazine). When we rang them, nothing came of it, and then out of the blue, they wanted blond twins to play a role for two days.
Obviously, we thought that the boys might enjoy it and the money would be good (although we still haven't been paid!). However, it was a court room drama, which was very formal, and the boys didn't enjoy it very much at all. So, we're postponing their careers in show business for a while.

That sounds really cool!
So...once again...are you still there? I left the site but I'm back now. You haven't replied to my email. Are you busy with your twins?
Anyway, I just thought I'd let you know that I'm planning to work on our twins entry to get it into the edited guide.

Hi Niwt - I was surprised to see your message, as I haven't been here for well over a year. I've pretty much been working on www.wikipedia.org, which is a much simpler system to use.
I'm sorry I didn't see your email - was it sent to the Yahoo one? If so, I check that quite rarely now.
As soon as I came to h2g2, the first thing I searched for was twins - it seems that there are a few entries for it now. Good luck with it - I'll keep checking back more often, if you're still working on it.

I noticed you haven't been here, and that's why I left the message. Actually that sounds very silly now...
Well, lucky you popped back, or else I would have been forced to say "Goodbye Mr. Cripps"
A lot of people go to Wikipedia from h2g2, and vice-versa. Are you enjoying it there? I've found it very handy for schoolwork lately.
The email was sent to yahoo, but I think I may have got the address wrong. Sorry.
Is it okay with you if I chop and change and mutilate our twins entry and then re-enter it in Peer Review?

Chop the twins thing as much as you need - hey - that's what wikipedia taught me - it's all about freedom.
I prefer wikipedia as it's much more dynamic and things happen much more quickly. There's almost an organised anarchy going on over there, which i like.
