Hiya Tav! smiley - smiley

I'm sub-editing your article, the recommended version, which you need to subscribe to don't forget, is A87780405smiley - ok

Can I ask: << and a willow birch to whip naughty children. >> I know willow trees and I know birch trees, so I wonder if you mean "a willow *branch* to whip..." (that would have frightened me into being good, just the threat!!!)smiley - yikes

smiley - smiley hi GB

Yes, that's what I mean, but it's not a single branch, it's rather a bundle of longer but rather thin branches/twigs.

Hiya again Tav, can you help me with:

<>

is that Christmas Eve (the 24th)? because your next paragraph is: "On 25th December (Christtag) and 26th December (Stefanitag) there are usually bigger family gatherings and more heavy meals. After the celebrations many people go on skiing holidays, or they do the opposite and travel to warmer countries." (In the UK we call "Christmas dinner" the one on the 25th, so I'd need to footnote it).

yes, the dinner is on the 24th, on Christmas Eve
first there is dinner, then there are presents, or vice versa depending on the patience of the family

Ok, I finally managed to read this.

In the section about Perchten you wrote:
'Schönperchten are well-dressed men wearing extremely high hats which are geometrically-shaped and stood on edge.'

my original sentence was:
' Schönperchten are well dressed men with extremely high hats, shaped like rectangles standing on one corner. '

this is what it looks like:

I think the sentence should be reworded.

Other than that it's fine, thanks a lot! smiley - smiley
