Thanks GB smiley - hug

I'm so glad that your daughter will be able to claim on an insurance policy and that you'll get a replacement "About A Boy" DVD...eventually. smiley - smiley

LSF, when is it that are you tying the knot? smiley - bubblysmiley - magic

GB you have just reminded me about my pre-wedding to hubby #1 jitters and the very nice chap I met whilst enjoying my hen night. smiley - drool He was sooo desperate to get my phone number and occasionally I find myself wondering "What if..." smiley - winkeye

I think I heard BBC Radio 5 mention something about Bruce Willis being picked to play JR...I didn't watch Dallasty the first time around but if Bruce is going to be in it, I might make the effort this time... smiley - winkeye

The impending London meet will once again fall a few weeks before I venture South with my offspring to visit my parents... smiley - sigh One day I will get my timing right! smiley - laugh

Caerwynn whatever you do, please don't give away anything Harry Potter related! smiley - grovel I have ordered a copy from Amazon as a birthday present for Mair next month, although I have a feeling that I shall be sneakily reading it beforehand! smiley - winkeye (Mind you, that will be difficult as Mair took her last GCSE last week, so will be mooching around the house as she is now a free spirit until 6th commences form next September!)

Your mum sounds as though she's a fantastic person Sho! smiley - ok

ah, my mum is fantastic *waves to mum*

She's ordered me 2 copies of the new HP, (although it came out here on Friday night too, in English - I didn't know that at the time) so I can send one to my friend in the States, who wants the British version not the American "translation"

LSF: how are you doing? I remember my dad driving me to the registry office saying "we can turn back you know, it's not to late to change your mind" all the way until I went in to meet the Registrar! I was really nervous, we arranged the whole thing in about 2 months from Germany, and didn't know we could have the day we had told everybody until we went to sign official stuff 3 days before (although my mum had chatted up the registrar and he had unofficially booked us in - he had sympathy for the difficulties posed for 2 serving soldiers)

er...
sheesh, nothing to smiley - drool about today, although I was just at the fair, and *faints* the shops were open in town too (so I'm EUR 300 poorer because I got myself some new glasses) and there were lots of tight-t-shirted fine young things around.

Has anyone seen Essex Boys? I keep missing it on telly and am sorely tempted to buy a 2nd-hand DVD just so I can smiley - drool over Sean...

Are your new glasses to enable clearer viewing of the "of tight-t-shirted fine young things" Sho? smiley - winkeye

nothing wrong with my eyes, but my glases are held together with sticky tape, so the fine-young-things tend not to look back... smiley - blue

I saw about 30 seconds of Essex Boys last night, but the ol' smiley - chefman turned it off... "not that flamin' Sean Bean again... you'll go all giggly and girly again"

heh heh heh, he knows me so well. I haven't told him about Troy yet, well, that Brad Pitt is making a new film - haven't mentioned the half-nekkid smiley - elfboy or Sean Bean yet.

I have to pick my moments.

My Mum always seemed to be unusual in that she drove. Very few of the other Mums did where ever we lived. Dad invariably had a staff car overseas, which meant she had use of the car. Nothing daunted her, driving on the right, oxen and carts in the middle of the road. But her specialty of going corners without slowing and not changing down a gear or two until afterwards was particularly alarming to those unused to it!

Nope, Gwennie I won't let anything slip in the HP front. smiley - ok

Seriously in lust over here... it was the last ep of State of Play tonight, there was a shot of the 'delectable Dan the baby journalist' smiling while talking on the phone and my knickers evaporated! I kid you not. That guy does things to my hormones. smiley - droolsmiley - drool

Glad to see that State of Play is back later in the year (was it? or next year... anyway, it's coming back. Thank goodness)

I wonder whether things have altered much in Army life nowadays? During the early 1980's, as a squaddie wife I was the exception to the rule and didn't fit in with the majority of other wives as I didn't have kids, drove and worked full time. Even when I went out on girls nights out, it was usually with a group of WRAC friends...Mind you I DID try a Tupperware party once that was hosted by one of the wives, but afterwards swore that it would be the last time I attended one! smiley - yawn

Amazon have sent me an Email confirming despatch of my HP book! smiley - boing Oops! smiley - blush I mean Mair's HP book of course! smiley - winkeye

I wanted to watched State of Play when I discovered it towards the end of the series but decided that as I most likely wouldn't understand what was going on, gave it a miss. I wish I hadn't now... smiley - doh

When I do eventually get to attend one of the meets, I'll allow you to introduce me to all the young totty GB! smiley - winkeye

Yeah! You keep on smiley - drooling JEllen girl and never mind what your friends say! smiley - winkeye

I love the hot weather, smiley - cool but sometimes wonder whether the few decent letches just aren't worth the hazardous exposure to semi-clad males (and females) who should be walking around fully clothed and wash their armpits! smiley - ill

My soon to be 16 year-old daughter knows about this thread, Sho's profuse drooling over smiley - elf Boy and my infatuation with Viggo and Sean...She thinks we're a bunch of very sad females. smiley - laugh

James Master's is quoted as saying in the Wicked Whispers column in today's Daily Mail:

<quote>
'I was at a cocktail party when two 80 year old women came up to me. One said "My friend would like to ask you a favour. We would like you to bend over". I did. I thought "What the hell!" And the woman grabbed my behind and said: "Now clench."'

Go Girls! I thought when I read it.
