Last funeral of the month this morning (the 6th! A new monthly record!)

We have a different vicar today now, if I could just remember where the spare vicar cupboard is...

Putting it in my usual style

Knowing how the coronavirus is on the uptake again!
(mainly due to idiots who can't "see" the seriousness of their actions )

I hope GB that you (and others) are not "overworked" in the next few coming months

Had a funeral today, the deceased was aged 74, he did not survive Covid. Most of his relatives could not attend the funeral.

GB a good few years ago, my mam went with a close family friend (support as such) to one of her friends relations funeral/crem'

my mam's friend shed tears (as you do) but an old lady stood next to them said:- Don't cry love! Remember "him/her ? by all accounts" But that it's NOT your funeral your attending - that brought smiles

Funeral on Friday of another covid victim, we had a spare vicar and we had to turn people away when we reached the allotted quote one mourner was so upset he told me the church would have been full in normal circumstances

Back to usual vicar today, family only attendees, funeral isn't even publicised in the local press.

Life might be **** at timesin many ways.
But! Us northerners are build like granite! We take what comes and spit in the face of adversary = northern grit!!

All the info about my job has been lost since the 2021.

I retired on 6th August, 2021, not having worked at the church since 19th March 2021. My Government pension began in June 2021 so I'm happily retired.

Or, I was!

This week one of the churchwardens (Andrew L) rang me to ask if I could assist with a wedding rehearsal & the actual wedding this week. The verger who took over after I retired, Pauline, has taken a month's leave of absence with immediate effect. I said ok and was picked up by Andrew for the wedding rehearsal last night. The bride's son is giving her away on the big day, he couldn't attend the rehearsal as he was at work so I stood in to walk the bride down the aisle. First time for everything! Lovely family, I can't wait for Saturday to see them all in their finery

The wedding went off without a hitch, even though the first job I had to do was clean up the dog poo deposited just outside the bridal party entrance to the church...

a happy bride & groom is the ultimate outcome. And I was home in time for the tennis

Did you see our golden boy Holger Rune?

Not yesterday but we watched all the matches from the last two tournaments and I remember Holger Rune!

I watched him beat Djokovic for the first time a few months ago. And now he's done it twice. We've never had a male tennisplayer like that before. Impressive young lad!

I married once ARGH! NEVER AGAIN!!!

BUT! I did come out victorious I got me 2 kids

daughter 5/son 6 when divorced - now son 37 as of this month and daughter 36 start of July
