Well... I'm starting off in L6th, and have far too much free time to play Startopia in smiley - biggrin

I've got a concert on Saturday night, followed by shooting training at Pirbright on Sunday morning bright and early... looks like I won't be getting much of a weekend ... smiley - winkeye

Don't worry, if you're doing Further Maths all that should change at some point... smiley - winkeye
(Unless you're the class genius who gets As without trying. smiley - winkeye)

Cool! smiley - smiley
And what's a weekend again?? smiley - winkeye
(I w*rk 9-4 Saturday and 9-1 Sunday, then do things like homew*rk smiley - erm)

Peter aka Krans

Well... last year doing GCSE I suspect I /was/ the class genius who got As without trying... *embarrassed smiley - blush*

But yeah, as soon as our Further Maths classes actually get going I'm expecting life to get very interesting, very quickly...

Ming Mang

So did I. smiley - winkeye This is no longer the case... smiley - winkeye
But, dammity, it /will/ be... *grits teeth and wonders if she will ever bother doing homew*rk)
And if doesn't get interesting fairly quickly, tell your teacher to get a move on, you can't afford to waste time on the easier bits... unfortunately... smiley - erm

BTW, I've said nice things about you on my h2g2 homepage (have I posted this already? am I repeating myself? aaargh...)

Post 12

Ming Mang

Anyway, you could be the genius. smiley - smiley

Oh, what's the audition for? smiley - erm

Feel free to call it prep... but I may forget that it is homew*rk. smiley - winkeye

*looks* Oh, thanks! smiley - blush
I'm afraid you've got to make do with the same links I give everyone else. smiley - smiley

Peter aka Krans

I've never understood how those links work. It's all far too confusing. smiley - winkeyesmiley - ok

The audition /was/ (phew) for the Oxford Academy of Music. And I got in, thank goodness. And I got in. smiley - wow (I was playing the horn).

Post 14

Peter aka Krans

...and I'd much rather you'd put my link in a word other than "duck". But hey. smiley - cool

Post 15

Ming Mang

First letter of your name is the letter of the link. smiley - winkeye
And there might be a 'black' in my page somewhere, would you prefer your link in there? smiley - smiley

Oh, cool! smiley - biggrin Well done! smiley - biggrin
What is the Oxford Academy of Music? smiley - erm

"might be a black" - or 10 or so. Yes please.

Well, how it works is that if you're a member you get instrumental lessons 1/2 price smiley - biggrin and you have to go to the Oxfordshire Central Music School on Saturday mornings. (This means that I have to miss Saturday morning school, and one of my teachers is being /very/ grumpy about it.smiley - grr)

Anyway, I think it's pretty cool. And I don't mind having to work a bit harder at my Physics to catch up, because Physics isn't that boring, IMHO.

Done! smiley - smiley

Cool! smiley - biggrin I wish there was some sort of scheme like that round here... and that there was a bassoon teacher... smiley - winkeye And your teacher should be more supportive. smiley - cross Anyway, it's your problem if you miss his lesson, not his. smiley - smiley And you're lucky your Physics course isn't boring, because mine is... and I will NEVER forgive them for calling one module 'Space' when it had nothing to do with space. smiley - grr
Damn Edexcel.
What exam board have you got for it? smiley - smiley

Post 18

Peter aka Krans

I'm not sure...

...but hopefully not Edexcel.

The concert last night went really well, and I had a great time (and bought a new badminton racket smiley - biggrin). And this morning we practised the ETR gallery match. Yay... it involves lots of running and shooting (but not at the same time, thank God). I did okay, considering the fact I haven't shot in a few weeks - 26/30 and 23/30.

Anyway... what sort of rifle do you usually shoot? .22 or 7.62? We use CCF rifles - you know, the horrible Cadet GP version of the SA-80 - it's chambered in 5.56, and has the worst sighting system I have ever seen... but I also fire .22 indoor in our school range.

Post 19

Ming Mang

I hope you don't have Edexcel as well. And hopefully they won't be around much longer...

Cool. smiley - biggrin

.22. It's the only rifle I've ever shot, I've nothing to do with any cadets whatsoever, and I don't know where the nearest club to me is that shoot full bore... So I've no idea about any other sorts of rifles. smiley - winkeye

Peter aka Krans

So what sort of rifle do you have? We use Anschutz rifles - really old ones... smiley - sadface
