Hello She (can I call you that? It saves a bit of typing?). You could either wait around until an interesting subject comes about, or else you could just jump in and start nattering about something you find interesting. As long as you don't mind being ignored if others don't share that particular interest.
People tend to coexist fairly peacafully on that forum, anyway. There are usually side discussions going on as alternatives to a main theme, so don't feel shy about doing that. Best wishes,
Lear

thanks. of course you can call me she. and forgive me if i don't get in on some of the more extremely complicated threads on philosophy, i have yet to study philosophy in any form......(oh jeez, i sound young now....oh well.....i can just be young and confused! it works!) but i must admit, paradoxes and tougher questions about the existence of a higher spirit form are interesting to read at least. FFFF's threads make for good intellectual reading when an amusing spat between two opposing minds isn't going on......

Studying philosophy isn't necessarily a pre-requisite for an engagement with philosophical questions, in my experience (although I suppose it doesn't do any harm). An enquiring mind is probably already thinking about the sorts of questions that make philosophy interesting, regardless of what they've studied academically.
I find the discussion on the FFFF pages tends to be of a fairly general nature, although sometimes it can get a little involved. That's when you start hoping for a clash of personalities to liven things up a bit.
