*rolls on floor laughing*
Weeelll.. I wouldn't go -quite- that far, but I'll hop on the 'everyone to his/her own choice' bandwagon with ya. And some of what you've said in your previous post seems to be an echo.

New article just went up. I'll probably get burned at the stake for it, but my apartment is kind of cold anyways, so *shrug*. Lemme know whatcha think (i think it still needs work).

Well, gosh.
It looks like this thread has brought me to the front page of the guide by becoming one of the 5 busiest forums. I'd call that success . Thanks so much folks for dropping in. Keep it going!
Oh, Peta, I did notice something that might be an error. Said link on the front page lists an older title for the article in question, from the day I initially set myself up here. Not that I'm complaining mind you, but it's something you might want to mention to TPTWVH sometime.
Cheers

uhm, ah yes, of course she is
it's 5:30 am here (pulling an all nighter) so I suppose such errors are unavoidable. Let's at least hope they are forgiveable.

You, m'dear, are a prime lateral thinker. I can see the laws of reality bending all about you. I'll drink to that.

Are you sure Matt Damon is better looking than you? I'd like to see some proof. I just spent over two hours of my life looking at his face on a 50 foot screen. Believe me, he's not that good looking.
So, what is this book you are composing? And how are you planning on publishing it? I work for a publisher, but unfortunately we only do automotive books. If you're writing a book on aeodynamic streamlined solar powered vehicles I can probably get you a book deal. Heh.

Just so's you all know, links from the five busiest forums are all referenced from the original page title. When my Aroma Café threads show up there it still says "Aroma Café(Not Yet Open)". This has been the case for every front page thread I've seen.

Yep, definately an oversight.
Ok, everyone, it's time for a spurious bit of poetry. I posted this elsewhere but noone seems to have noticed it, so here comes:
THE DIFFICULTY OF LIVING ON OTHER PLANETS
A martian with a mangled spear
Is stuffing tarts in my left ear;
If I turn off my hearing aid,
Will I still taste the marmalade?
-Dennis Lee
It's an old favourite, and I think you can get the most out of it by missing the point of it. Any meditations on this piece?

Actually the book is going to try and be a serious study of religion, cosmology, politics, and the struggles of human evolution, but with a light enough tone that it doesn't SEEM very serious. In other words, a lot of the stuff I'm writing about on this site, with a bit more depth. I figure I might as well be ambitious and try to save the world; as far as getting it published, I guess I'm taking that one on faith, but I know my work is publishable when polished because I used to do a lot of freelance journalism and editorial writing. I'll find someone to buy it. Even if I don't, I need to write this book because i've had writer's block for about four years now trying to thinkg about how to approach the subject matter. I'd hate to think that I wasted all that time for nothing.

So, guys, question time: Does DNA ever use this guide himself? I don't imagine he does a lot of hitchhiking these days. I saw his page but it looks sort of neglected. I pretty much figure the low profile keeps him from being swamped by people wanting his personal attention, which I respect, but how much does he actually wander around reading stuff?

He wanders through on occasion. As far as I know, he is the only one h2g2 has a standing "if he writes it, it is accepted" policy. It wouldn't surprise me at all if he also had an assumed name or two he might wander through under, either. Perhaps one we've all seen. Perhaps he's here right now! *peers around* .. Perhaps its..... YOU!

Thanks for the flattering suspicion, but I'm not that brilliant Oh well, if you're out there Doug, thanks for all the books. They warped my mind good and early in life.
