A Hi to you too! Thanks for dropping by! I had a read of your reasons for being away, and it's good to see you back on here.

I'm in the process of moving house for the first time in 17 years which is thrilling and scary at the same time but will put me a bit closer to both my girls, and my new grandson.

Yay for being closer to the kids!

It can be daunting to move all one's possessions, but will likely be a better outcome in the long run. Be brave, see it through, and enjoy the kids...

I'm hoping not to move *all* of my possessions, and spend a lot of time watching decluttering tips on YouTube. That's the same as actually reducing the stuff, isn't it?

There was a time when I moved every couple of years or so, which kept the clutter down, but after 17 years in one place things seem to have accumulated.

I mean that with all due respect.

Truth be told, I've dragged certain "treasured" items with me since I left home, over forty years ago. Most of those things include photos and baubles from my youth. I've only recently managed to do away with (sell, give to charity, or pitch in the trash) all the unnecessary items left over from my busted 25-year marriage. My new gal (Willo) and I are very judiciously adding furnishings only a little at a time. We don't want to fall into the same trap of being trapped by our stuff.

Anyway, all the best on making easy decisions, and that the final landing will be gentle. I bet it'll all be worth it when it's over...

It's been over 3 months, so I wanted to check on how your move went... Any good stories about the adventure? Did you actually pare down the amount of stuff in your personal inventory? Oh... and how are the new digs? Love the place?
