I'm a newbie to h2g2, and a few things I still don't get (I don't know a modem from a hole in the ground), so I've got one question:
When you've recommended a piece, do things stop there or is there a chance that it might still be approved? Do I have to send it
somewhere, or does that happen automatically?

I actually don't know too much about the new system of recommendations since I am no longer a sub-editor, but I think that once you recommend a piece, the community and subs take it from there. They go to the page and read over the entry and comment upon and criticize it, and the in-house editors and/or subbies decide whether to accept it or not. I think! You really might want to ask one of the editors proper, though.

There's one slight mistake in the edited version of "Vienna and The Third Man - The Tour":
The theatre mentioned in the last line is called the "Burgkino" ("kino" meaning cinema), and it is located on the "Burgring", which is one of Vienna's two main trafficways.

I actually didn't edit that. I sent it back because I resigned from being a subbie, and apparently the entries are floating about in beaurocratic limbo land until they get them to somebody else. If I find out who gets them next, I'll relay your comment to him.
Key: Complain about this post
