Greetings, and welcome to H2G2. May your stay be long and fruitfulsmiley - winkeye. In all seriousness, I'm sure you'll enjoy it here. I think almost everyone does. So. Tell us more. I have a rough idea of the a, what about s/l though? And does life really revolve around skiing? I wouldn't know, I'm in Ireland, so I don't get to see all that much snow...

Anyway. I've got to go, so, once again: welcome.

Oh, hi and thanks for the welcoming, Astro!

You're absolutely right about the skiing-part, friend!
No, life does not revolve around winter sports......
..or, come to think of it, sports in general!
The point is just that it is hard to ignore this cold,
wet downfall when enduring weather-from-hell for six
looong months while waiting for spring and getting
that motorcycle back on the road.

Anyway, we'll have to make the best of it, I guess.
There's allways good books and whisky to help us
through the dark half of the year smiley - smiley

Hi!

Sorry about the late reply, But I've been kinda busy over the holidays etc. The usual excusesmiley - winkeye.

How were your Christmas & New Year's Eve parties? I hope you had a good time, with friends & family etc. If not, bummersmiley - sadface.

What kind of bike have you got? I don't know much about bikes (or cars for that matter), but enough to use it as a conversation pointsmiley - smiley.

Also, what kind of books do you read? I'm asking as an avid reader myself. My favourite authors are Tolkien, David Eddings, Robert Ludlum, Tom Clancy etc. I also Like Desmond Bagley, Allistair McLean and a few others.

Well, have to go now. More work - no rest for the wickedsmiley - bigeyes.

Take care

The parties were exellent, thanks! Took a while to recover from the aftermath of the new year's eve party though smiley - smiley

Bike? I've got two of those. One half-old Triumph and a slightly newer Harley-Davidson. Both beautiful bikes and good rides. I have ridden for so many years now that it has sort of became a habit. I don't think it's possible to stop when you are so used to it. ...and yes, it is possible to combine with family life, even if some people say different smiley - smiley

As for litterature, well, that's another nessecity of life! I work at a university over here, so much reading is job-related, and eerhmm... not all of it is hillarious, but whatever you read you allways get something out of it. It is hard to list favourite authors, but for sure Tolkien are amongst them, as are P G Woodhouse, Steinbeck, Hemmingway, Zola and a looong list of swedish authors that I guess are'nt too well known in Ireland smiley - bigeyes
Oh, and J Joyce, come to think of it! ...and D Adams....Pratchett... and a whole bunch more!

How's life in Ireland? I've never been there, but trust me, some day...! A few pint of Guinnes in a nice pub listening to Irish music...

Well, back to work....smiley - sadface See you!

Do brownies & whiskey go together ?

(random consumer poll)

Tigger - fairly random pollster (sometimes) & brownie eater when available

P.S. Hello
P.P.S. I assume from the previous conv. that 6 months snow == Sweden ?

Hi Tigger!
Brownies and whiskey? Of course! I mean, why not? Just be carful not to choose a to peaty highland malt. The softer lowland- or irish whiskeys should work out just fine. With cream cakes, on the other hand, I strongly recommend straight Vodka. smiley - winkeye

P.S Yes, right you are, and Sweden it is smiley - smiley
