Today's mission

I am baking a four-layer marble cake today. It's for a baby shower. No, no, I'm not the one having the baby. One of the people I work with is. The first two layers are in the oven right now. I can't wait until all four layers are done, because then comes the fun part...decorating! Hopefully, the cake will look like one of those alphabet blocks little kids play with. I hope you know what I mean, because I don't think I can explain.

Billiards

After work today, I went to the bar with 3 other cooks. We played pool. I am absolutely terrible at pool. We played 3 games, and my team only won once. I felt pretty bad about it, because the guy on my team is an excellent shooter, and it's my fault he lost. But oh well. It was fun. Maybe I'll go again next week...

I was looking in a mirror last night, and I began to wonder, what is it that people first notice about me? Is it my freckles? The gap in my teeth? The way my nose turns up? And do people really mean it when they tell me I'm cute? Or are they just trying to get on my good side?
Insecure people should not watch Meg Ryan movies. Her cuteness always makes me nervous.

Zippy

I learned how do drive stick this past weekend. I'm so proud of myself. I'm going to be driving Zippy (my sister's car) for the rest of the week. She and the rest of my family went to Massachusetts for Thanksgiving, so I'm babysitting her car. I think it'll be fun.
