Fabulous. We are watching the original Twilight Zone from the start with original intros from Rod Serling in person. I will look forward to the mannequin one with relish also Terry Farrell, she was Jadzia Dax in Star Trek DS9, wasn't she?

Yes, it was that Terry Farrell in the TZ episode. No gore in any of this, it's all ideas, which is the kind I like, too.

I enjoyed reading this, though I must admit I am reminded of both:

'Mannequin' (1987) in which a man falls in love with a shop dummy and nothing's gonna stop us now.

'The Greatest Store in the World' (1999) - a TV movie that always appears to be on over Christmas in which a homeless mum and her two girls secretly live in a posh department store over Christmas, and have to survive both being burgled by and serenaded by S Club 7.

It must be a universal trope. I wonder how many other national variants there are in different languages?

I recall a tv movie in which Vanna White is a mannequin or statue come to life. Y'all won't know Vanna White, though she's a household name in the US. She's the lady who turns over the letters in the long-running game show 'Wheel of Fortune' and she is adored by millions. (Nice woman, native of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.)

There was also an Italian avant-garde film back in the 60s in which some guy was pursued by a giant woman from a billboard the Milk Board put up...can't remember the actress, only that she was Scandinavian...

I recall one of the videos in the "Golden Oldie Picture Show" featured a shop mannequin which came to life. "Dedicated follower of fashion" I believe it was, but I could be wrong. Pity they're lost forever

And how can anyone forget the best Carry On EVER - Carry On Screaming - in which the weird family used to turn real women into mannequins and sell them to shops?

I'd swear you made that up about 'Carry On', but at this point I'll believe anything.

Come to think of it, didn't Doctor Who have autons who were disguised as mannequins? Second or Third Doctor?

Third Doctor - and no, 'Carry On Screaming' did consist of women being turned into mannequins. Another film that had a woman turned into a mannequin was 'Wishmaster' - which I wish I hadn't watched...
