"I disagree with Tango slightly in the implication that no-one round here is worth the effort of gathering together the evidence."

I would also disagree with that. No-one who asked for the evidence is worth it. If someone i thought would understand it asked, i would get it for them, however i expect that anyone capable of understanding it wouldn't need someone else to explain it to them.

Tango, the line I referred to was:

"Up to now you have not demonstrated the willingness or ability."

Your contention is:

SEF did not say:

"we won't show it to you because you haven't demonstrated that you can understand it"

SEF said:

"we won't waste the time working out how to show it to you because you have demonstrated that you can't understand it"

You may think you know what SEF meant, but your preconceptions seem to have clouded your understanding of what SEF actually said. Or were you perhaps too lazy to read it properly? Or mayhap too stupid to understand? Incapable of appreciating the evidence at hand? Or (and this is my bet) desperately looking for a way to prolong this highly entertaining thread? If the latter, it seems to have had the desired result - congratulations. smiley - ok

I draw your attention to "the position of the negative, which, although subtle, makes a massive difference"... smiley - tongueout

OK, so i was more paraphrasing myself, than paraphrasing SEF, not that it really matters. Had you been capable of understanding it when i first said it, SEF wouldn't have needed to repeat it.

So, since we wouldn't understand your evidence anyway, you shouldn't be bothered to show it to us ? We should have understood the situation intuitively and thus not needed evidence, it seems. So why did you bother with all this discussion and blather when those that are not stupid would understand it anyway, and those who are stupid never will ? There are plenty of very intelligent people on this site who would cut you off at the knees in a fair debate, Tango, including many of us you have gone out of your way to call "stupid". Many of us are a little tired of your arrogance and abuse. We are willing to accept that you might have some legitimate concerns that need to be looked at. ( yes, i know you should never end a sentence with a preposition). But when after days of telling us you will provide the TRUTH, you suddenly decide there's no use in bothering yourself- YOU don't need to provide evidence, or even a clear statement of your grievance- I start to smell bulls***t. Put up or shut up. Write your report and let us read it, analyze it, and determine what steps should be taken. Otherwise, QUIT TRYING TO SOW DISSENSION AND DISCORD among the many satisfied denizens of H2G2.

dElaphant (and Zeppo his dog (and Gummo, Zeppos dog)) - Left my apostrophes at the BBC

I haven't been called stupid yet. I feel left out.

SEF said:
"Though without that background knowledge or lurking in the right places to see the various incidents the evidence would need to be pointed out before they could verify it."

That's it! You do understand the point so many people have been making all along! We cannot verify anything or even have any understanding of why you are so up in arms without the evidence being pointed out, and Tango has dangled this non-specific threat to h2g2 before us, then called people stupid without directing us to the appropriate threads so that we can discover it for ourselves. (Actually, I gather that Tango is talking about 2 entirely separate things, one thing that has to do with Community Artists, and a second that is perhaps some sort of DOS attack on the h2g2 servers. But I'm extrapolating, since nothing has been specified, there have only been vague allusions.)

I find assumptions of what background knowledge other people have to be stupid. No one here is a mind reader.

I never made any threats. I pointed out that i was capable of something, that is very different to threatening to do it.

What I think is slightly more interesting at this point is that people are actually bothering to listen to Tango and SEF still...[0]

spelugx - non sequitur

[0] The tiny bits of the[1] evidence I've seen don't show malace they just show people not knowning when to admit that they're out their depth (although they have said things in private, but sometimes it's not always appropiate to maintain an 'always right' attitude as it can alienate rather then help establish leadership).

[1] Presumably they contribute to the evidence, they should have been seen by Tango and SEF.

Stating that you could bring h2g2 to its knees when that is out of context with the current coversation sounds threatening.

For example:

Person A: "Hello, how are you?"
Person B: "I can kill your mother if I choose!"
Person A: smiley - yikes

It was in context, as you would have know if you were capable of reading things correctly. It's amazing how generous people are being in supplying me with examples of the things i'm saying.

The context is this:

I said i was going to read through the backlog to get the evidence required. Someone (Lil, i think, but i haven't checked) offered to help, but i was forced to turn down the offer, as the backlog i was checking was in the bugfinders mailing list (although that list didn't contain evidence, it contained references to evidence in other places, so i could find it easier). I couldn't let people access the bugfinders list because of the information in it regarding bugs (considering it's a bugfinders list, that isn't suprising). People for some reason failed to understand my reasons for secrecy, so in order to make myself clear i gave an example. That example was that i could use the information in the list to bring down the bbc servers. It was not a threat, it was just an example of the dangers of the information stored in that list falling into the wrong hands. I have no intention of doing any damage to the BBC servers, because it is illegal, and would benefit no-one.

Mr Ixolite

Tango,

With your repeated refusals to direct us to any evidence, I can only assume that you are admitting that you have no evidence, and therefore have no real argument.

So kindly stop trying to cause trouble.

If it was a real conversation, then i can only think of one thing it could be about.

The evidence is there for anyone who puts in the effort to find it. I am not going to put in that effort for people who can't even understand the simplist of things.
