I think it was something in the water today...

I wanted to see how broad a historical view I could squeeze into 1200 or so words.

I knew from the thread title that this was you, or at least, no-one from the UK, as I had to suppress a childish giggle at the repeated word in the title, which happens to be a euphemism for sexual activity in these parts.

I enjoyed the entry, thanks for writing it up.smiley - ok

I was enjoying looking at some old literature (the Magna Carta, the Domesday Book, the Charter of the Forest) in Lincoln just this week, at a meeting of hootooers. So this was quite timelysmiley - cheers

Unfortunately, no photos were allowed smiley - sadface but I have some papyrus from my London trips if photos are required for this entry.

Thanks, you two! smiley - smiley

Oh, good. A papyrus photo would probably hit the spot.

And smiley - blush. Gosh. I guess I put double entendre in without entendre-ing it...

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.

If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.

Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!

Sorry I see I didn't manage to add my comment, but I meant to say I read this when it first arrived in Peer Review and really enjoyed it - I liked the neatness of the story smiley - ok and could visualise each section, as I've seen clay tablets and papyrus, learned about parchment at a monastery and even made my own paper, as well as, of course, making good use of pixels every day smiley - biggrin
