So you're saying that she has to (and here's an obscure DNA reference for you) adumbrate the elephant?

I'm not sure that it is legal, even in Switzerland, but no, that was not the answer I was looking for.

"he had orders to turn back anyone who tried to get into Germany,"
So when the Guard appeared she had to make him believe that she was trying to get into Germany and he would send her to Switzerland.

You are along the right lines, but she could not talk to the guard to persuade him. What actions would she have to take?

Icy North Posted Sep 1, 2011
Walking backwards is one way, but when she is turned around, she would need to change her direction of travel and walk forwards, in which case the guard would turn her around again.
If she could get spinning at a fast-enough rate, then she might be able to tunnel into the ground and get across the border that way.

If she walked for 3 minutes and turned just before the guard came out, he would think that she was trying to get into Germany.
He may ask to see her passport, but she does not have one.
She would be sent "back" to Switzerland.

How about an easy one to get the brain moving for the new year?
Which number come next?
7, 8, 5, 5, 3, 4, 4, 6, 9, 7, 8 ?

Oh, I didn't want to spoil it for everyone else
The clue was in the question.
I'm still thinking of another one - I'll be back...

The number of letters in the months of the year.
"I'm still thinking of another one" That's the real brainteaser.

A riddle, then...
What can go up a chimney down, but not down a chimney up?

I know this one. It is over 70 years ago that I first heard it.

We're all falling over ourselves not to answer it and have to set a new one, aren't we?
