What are you saying? That a minute before submitting this to Peer Review I changed the name to 'Janet and John' and then, immediately after it was submitted, renamed it back to "'Janet and John' – the Radio Stories" just so anyone who reads the entry in Peer Review may assume it is about the 1950s American children's book series?

Just reading this again and spotted three teensy weensy little things...
"7:30am" - 7.30am for House Style
"Ladybird's Peter and Jane Key Words Reading Scheme series" - specify "in the UK"
" encouraged by Pauly to write more" - I presume it wasn't Wogan who was encouraged there...
"the way he would burst out with uncontrollable laughter while telling the stories reassured listeners that it was all innocent innuendo"
This still fascinates me - doesn't the laughing give away the innuendo, causing children to ask questions?
Great conclusion to the Entry

Thanks for your comments, some tweaks have been made.
"Ladybird's Peter and Jane Key Words Reading Scheme series" - specify "in the UK"
I didn't think that Ladybird's Peter and Jane Key Words Reading Scheme series was limited to the UK I'm sure I read somewhere that it was designed to be able to be used for children wide for whom English was not the first language to be able to learn English as much as it is for English-speakers to learn English. If Ladybird books in general and the Key Words Reading Scheme weren't at least sold in Ireland and a few Commonwealth Countries I would be very surprised.
Different laughs give out different signals. For example, a sniggering laugh implies that there's something to snigger at. Wogan had a gentle laugh, which had the power to imply there was something gently amusing. If he'd had a dirty laugh when reading the same story the effect would have been completely different.
Of course, children may well ask questions – they are inquisitive after all – but there's so much on the radio they potentially don't understand, news stories, traffic reports, song lyrics and so on. Of course every child is different and so my experience only really relates to my children, but I have found that they were most inquisitive if there was something that comes across as being threatening. Amusement is reassuring and so they are content that the radio is a background noise.

OK - it was just the sentence:
"American children's books Janet and John... similar to Ladybird's Peter and Jane Key Words Reading Scheme series."
compares Ladybird to America, which sounded a bit odd
Thank you for explaining the laughs - I can 'visualise' that much better now!

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
