The Groob

She could've died by any means if she had died elsewhere and they sprinkled her ashes on the island.

Or...maybe the island is only a few hours old: she's a vulcanologist visiting an island being formed by volcanic means and just as she touches down the volcano spews out some lava or something like that.

"Both wrong!"

I think you mean "That's not the answer I have here".

The volcano answer is perfectly plausible.

I wasn't expecting to be right.

oh, well. here goes:

a man lives in a house on the beach. he goes home just before sundown, and goes upstairs, switches on the light, lies in his bed and reads a chapter of his favourite book. when he gets through the chapter, he's rather tired. so he puts the book down, switches off the light, and goes downstairs to his bedroom, gets into bed and falls asleep.

next morning, he wakes to find 150 dead people lying on his beach. so he commits suicide. Why?

Sheep in wolfs clothing

He was a lighthouse keeper and switched off the light, resulting in a ship crashing in to the rocks.

Sheep in wolfs clothing

A drove of sheep and chickens have a total of 99 heads and feet. There are twice as many chickens as sheep. How many of each are there?

9 sheep = 45 heads and feet
18 chickens = 54 heads and feet
45+54=99.

That one was delightful.

I can't think of a good 1 at the mo, so if any1 wants my turn, PLS: B my guest!

Ah. I just thought of another oldie.

Romeo and Juliet are lying dead in a puddle of water, surrounded by broken glass.

They are in a room that's been locked from the outside, and hasn't been unlocked since they were left in the room, alive.

A window, unreachable from the outside, is open and the curtain is blowing.

A table lies between the window and the deceased.

What happened?

No idea. Actually, it could have something to do with a broken glass of water. Not quite sure what, though. The glass shouldn't be from the window, as that is open so there is no need to break it.

Can I add a clue Patches?
(well that fits with your question only threads - doesn't it?)
Could it have anything to do with Carassius auratus.

Your clue gives it away, so I'll take it as your post.
