Funny expression, there's a lot of it about. It can be used widely and freely, but it is important to define the It, methinks.

PS

I am having on ongoing daydream about a yellow zig zag line which likes to interact with creation in a zig zag way of its own. It is currently learning to tango with an illuminated animated entity, known in inner entity circles as The Entity.

Erm... smiley - rofl ... smiley - rofl .... I happy am, and there are aches and avocets and the first primrose.

I had an intense memory of the weekend, talking with my brothers about our family home. There was a brick in the wall of the house. There was? A brick??? smiley - rofl. All the other bricks were terracotta brick red, kinda old in fact, but there was this one brick with an unusual glaze, round by the outhouse where there were spiders, where we kept our wellies, where the central heating boiler made funny gurgling sounds, where my mother saw the ghost of The Cavalier.

Is this relevant? No!

It was shiny, looked black or dark green, (I'm talking about the brick, not the ghost), smiley - rofl, but when it caught the light it was all the colours of the rainbow! And I was entranced, and I saw the entire universe in it, and all the philosophies of the world.

I'm going back to find it one day, when I can get over the fear of the giant arachnids, the Cavalier wearing wellies, and the ghostly gurgling boiler sound.

Good one mvp smiley - laugh, I'm rubbish at physics but I am sure there is something about everything having this tendancy towards disorder, this is definately so when it comes to our house.

Truth is that we are quite untidy, I've not been motivated over the last few months to do anything beyond a very low minimum, with occasional bursts of activity never feeling I have got on top of things which makes me feel bad, I can't even manage a house smiley - blue

Most of my energy goes into parenting, cat care and keeping some sort of show of normality on the road

Sorry that is not very daydreamy, I've never been to a convention, I went to a pub once to meet up with a Trek group, but that was a meet, I enjoyed it as an evening, not enough to join, was slightly disappointed that no-one was dressed up but they only did that on special occasions smiley - biggrin

If you're coping with parenting, that's enough of an achievement. smiley - hug

Whoah, just checked the June bug from the Ed's previous posting. That's a fine fella. If I met him face to face I would have to recite many verses of poetry just to keep my composure. smiley - rofl

The May Bug isn't a ladybird, it's waaaay bigger. They lie upside down in basins on camping sites.

If your hiccups don't go away by themselves take a teaspoon of granulated sugar. For some reason this usually resolves the chemical imbalance that causes them.

granulated sugar, that'll be worth a try, is it a chemical imbalance that causes hiccups?

Really? Granulated sugar? mmm. That suits me just fine. Thanks for the tip, Elektra! smiley - kiss A sweet remedy indeed.

Hah! (doing research).

One of the causes of hiccups is apparently rapid eating.

That's me, I sometimes eat like a very hungry gobbling creature, that has a remaining life expectancy of twenty minutes, and has a lot left to do those twenty minutes, like eat a mountain of curly kale whilst writing letters to long lost Aunts about many deep and urgent things.

Daydream Journal

Elektragheorgheni -Please read 'The Post'

Gosh CC, please chew that kale carefully. I've been thinking about buying some, but it seems pretty tough compared to mustard greens and I'd think you had to boil it for some time till it gets edible.

My organic veg box is good at providing me with a range of strange vegetables which I then have to cook. smiley - erm

Curly kale isn't too bad. Red Russian kale is nice sauted with a splash of soy sauce. I've discovered a range of things you can do with swede (rutabaga) and celeriac. But the radiccio was very bitter smiley - yuk

So here's a silly verse to go with the veg box

SOUL VEG

Last year was veg box time.
The cornucopia that arrived
bemused and delighted.
At least no mangel-wurzels
but I sautéed kale with soy sauce and ginger
stuffed pumpkin with rice and chestnuts.
You can have too much of a good thing.
It’s a charade to pretend to like radicchio,
I don’t believe Eve was tempted by swedes
and I’m losing my soul to cooking.
Anyone fancy a takeaway?

3.24 am

heheh. Me too. It's really good to consider the mangel-wurzel at 3.24 am, and right now I could order a fine early hours veggie takeaway of stuffed pumpkin with rice and chestnuts smiley - drool. I'm glad the poets write. smiley - rofl.

I keep waking at this time right now, neither manic nor panic, but it's not the most sociable hour, neither night nor morning, hootoo could be the soothing solution.

What about grated raw swede then? That was a thing in salads one time, probably the 70s, smiley - rofl, perhaps we could tempt Eve back to the garden with a 70s salad? with chopped raw radicchio leaves for garnish. Come back Eve!

I've just seen a convention of spirit guides, and otherwordly figures from a magic rock painting, ooh black and white! photographic magic, I love them smiley - rofl, they are sitting in an all night cafe, and one of them is stirring hot chocolate with a crumpled antennae, and they are discussing how to encourage sleep in the kind of person who wakes up at 3 am to discuss grated raw swede with poets.

Ah hootoo, you are the cure. smiley - rofl

smiley - laugh I like the word mangel- wurzel, I think a mangel-wurzel was one of Wurzel Gummidge's heads. I used to feel uneasy about the changing of his heads but fascinated at the same time.

Cc, do your spirit guides sit in all-night cafes drinking hot chocolate? I'd imagined them being more ethereal. It's easy enough to imagine one appearing in the shimmer of hot air over a desert, or merging into the shade under pine trees. But, if you're an urban person, would you see them stepping off a bus, or disappearing into a crowd, or busking outside a supermarket?

Peanut, I used to think mangel wurzels were mythical, until my husband and I were walking near Cissbury Ring. We saw a pile of
big knobbly red root vegetables and, a bit further on, a field full of plants with leaves like spinach, with glimpses of the same red roots. My husband looked up mangel wurzels on wiki and found that the word is indeed one of the names for this type of root veg. So you can really lean on your farm gate and say "Oh ah, me mangel wurzles be doin' fine.' smiley - laugh

Spirits stepping off a bus always reminds me of Joan Osborne, because I love her song.

Here's a lovely little video made by some people with a band. I think if you read the questions they want to ask God, you'll tear up, just a little:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5P5vxf6IuQ

Now off to find out what a mangel wurzel is. Sounds like German to me: 'Mangel' could be 'lack', or the machine you use to flatten your laundry, and 'wurzel' means 'root'. smiley - run
