How can Pi Day be celebrated?

Post 1

paulh. Everyone is a critic!

March 14 is Pi day. I'm hoping to stop for some pi(e) later this afternoon.

Is anyone else celebrating? How will you observe this important occasion?

As I asked on another "social network",

Do you think anyone celebrated the 2nd of July, 1828?

To do so would be irrational surely.

Because....?

--The legislature of the Territory of Michigan passed an act regarding mill ponds?

--Someone named John Coffee sent a letter to Andrew Jackson?

--Congress approved money to remove obstructions from Cunningham Creek?

--Congress also approved money for improvement of the Kennebec River?

--Ann Pope married Charles Cooper II in Davidosn County, Tennessee?

Well, this must be a Thursday. I can't get the hang of Thursdays. smiley - winkeye

MY latest post was in response to Baron Grim's post about July 2 1828. I expect that coffee figures prominently in it somehow.

Nope... Well, coffee could be involved, but not for any particular reason. smiley - cheerssmiley - coffee

You have certainly succeeded in baffling me, but I don't have massively parallel computers to assist me. My mind operates on just 14 watts of electricity; Google or IBM's Big Blue can easily outdo me in terms of searching/analyzing resources. smiley - blush

I'm grateful to you for that. Euler's number is a start. Pi gets the edge, though, because even non-mathematicians can figure out a use for the homophonic pie. smiley - smiley

You know I have never known it was called Euler's number. But it does explain why it has the symbol e.

So, what kind of oil do you use to commemorate Euler's number?

Depends on the kind of pi(e).

Banana oil for banana cream pie
Coconut oil for coconut cream

And so forth. smiley - smiley

I can't believe this took so long to click, but how about celebrating Pi day with some Raspberry Pie?
