You can call me TC

The Director of Top Gun, Tony Scott, has died. According to IMDB, it may have been suicide.

Just Bob aka Robert Thompson, plugging my film blog cinemainferno-blog.blogspot.co.uk

That's sad, Tony Scott was very much in the productive stage of his career. I've always thought of him as the more commercial and less talented of the two brothers: while Ridley's early films include the seminal Alien, Blade Runner and Thelma & Louise, Tony was making studio vehicles like Top Gun, Beverley Hills Cop II and Days of Thunder. However, Tony does has some really talented pieces of work to boast of, and very much in his own style: Enemy of the State and True Romance are both classics. It seems he mainly operates as a producer these days, but I know I've seen films by him as a director relatively recently. In any case, if the IMDb page is even close to the truth (and it usually is) then we're going to be seeing his name in credits for a while yet, and that's a fine tribute, of itself.

Neil Armstrong.

But he's probably on someone's list.

I always thought he was a good-looking guy. Even at 82, he still had an interesting face. Surely he will never be forgotten.

On the news last night his friends were saying that Neil was astonished when schoolchildren said they'd read about him in history books. I guess he was a bona fide living legend. He will always be a part of human history and as such should never be forgotten.

Still Incognitas, Still Chairthingy, Still lurking, Still invisible, unnoticeable, missable, unseen, just haunting h2g2

There is a whole world out here of people who can say what age they were, where they where, who they were with and what an inspiration it was when Neil Armstrong stepped onto the moon.smiley - biggrin

It was one of those firsts in modern history that don't can't happen again.

What do you get when you kiss a girl?
You get enough germs to catch pneumonia
After you do, she'll never phone ya...

So true, so true. smiley - winkeye
