I just saw a banner ad with a Ishihara colourblindness test image, and the legend "Which number do you see? How high is your IQ?"

Aren't they confusing something?

Maybe they're being ironic.

No, they've been cropping up elsewhere, too - always a *perception* test with a "how high is your IQ?" blurb. I've not clicked them, they usually lead to unsafe sites...

You were being ironic about them being facetious? smiley - headhurts

My favourite ads at the moment are the BrightHouse ones. Now any old dole scum can afford an LCD TV! Mind you, if you don't keep up the repayments we'll come round and break your legs. smiley - ok

Not a tv ad

Last week I bought 4 x icecream onnastick. then it got cool

Tonight...

One wrapper says - "Do Not conduct aspects of physics or complex surgical procedures while consuming this product"

The other - "If you are already in a serious relationship, please do not eat this product in a public place"

Yeah - I meant to say 'a bit of light relief' or something.

The other two, unfortunately, have a same message (favourites - hokey pokey).

A Super Furry Animal

A well-known recruitment company* is running a radio campaign at the moment. One of their ads goes something like this (I paraphrase, from memory):

"So, tell me what your degree was in again?"
"Physics."
"Right...here's an experiment for you: can you see what happens if you immerse the contents of this sachet in 125 centilitres of boiling water?"
"You want me to make you a cup of tea."
"That's right!"

The ad continues along the lines of "unhappy with your job? Why not contact us?" etc.

What strikes me about the ad, however, is the "125 centilitres of boiling water". Really? You make tea in quantities of over a litre, from a single teabag?

Methinks the advertising agency is too stupid to understand the difference between a centilitre and a millilitre. Although 125 ml seems like a small cup of tea...I don't think they've thought this one through at all.

Cheerful Dragon

Maybe they're trying to suggest that the company doing the 'interview' is so stingy that they only allow one teabag for 1.25l of water.
