Hmm based on the details in that article he might not have a leg to stand on in court.

(Had to be said...no really...at least it didn't involve horses/Richard III/the Pope.)

I'm not sure with that 'burglar' story that he's got a leg to stand on, frankly.

I'll try to redeem myself by breaking with tradition and staying on topic.

The Church of the Black Sheep in Chesterfield is attracting heavy metal fans to religion:

The trouble is - playing all that loud music makes the spire go crooked.

I'm surprised Pistorius (alledgedly) used a gun and had to fire it 4 times...he should have used a blade he's pretty handy with them...or should that be leggy?

Here's another great one:

A young woman is dead on the floor with four bullets in her.

people around the world are joking about the disabled man, her partner, who allegedly killed her.

It's Valentine's Day.

People around the world are taking part in an international protest of and call to take action against the plague of violence toward women and girls.

Pretty fun, huh?

No, but the comments are inevitable.

I would have thought it was pretty obvious that we didn't have to say how terrible it is - however, it's not going to stop people making 'jokes' about various parts of the story...mainly about him and his lack of legs.

It does look like this story is going to have some though.

Really, not heard anything about this, no newspaper reports - hence not that successful then? Not deriding this important subject but if national newspapers aren't reporting it on the front page of their websites how successful has it been? The abusers are hardly going to be looking for such stories - what real world aims does the day have past highlighting the issue? A honest serious question.

However (for a talking point) once again the polarisation of 'just' violence towards women and girls rather than violence against all sexes - violence against men does happen and is an even more hidden phenomena than violence against women/girls due to the perceived stigma.

Protests are important of course but in our so called progressive society it is a shame this sort of thing can't be more inclusive with the calls for equality that we rightly hear.

The media (and their male? owners) control the news triage. They have decided to headline and splash the news regarding the celebrity slaying of a model. It seems they don't consider the international day against violence towards women and girls worth publicising.
