I like the rant, personally, but bear in mind that it hasn't been so long since a dark-skinned nativity scene couldn't be found in any white-majority part of the world. The fact that these backward Veronese have something to get up in arms about is progress.

>> I have fond memories of summertime in Italy a quarter century ago. <<
Which we are all grateful for your sharing with us.
And equally so your prideful Canadian Manifisto (sic) (above).
May I add, for informational purposes only, that our head of state is also
a woman, black, a native French speaker and from some godforsaken
hellhole in the Caribbean where -46C is the stuff of scifi.
Happily, her position, as the Queen's representative, is mostly ceremonial.
And just as happily, she eats raw seal meat; tends to favour the best bits,
the heart, brain and liver!
Hmm.. Contrary to prevailing wisdom the music of Tom Cochrane seems to
rouse and excite the savage breast.

I don't suppose this would go over too well with the Veronazis...

That's cute!!
I think I'm going to print it and put it on my wall, since I can't find the nativity scene my brother made a few years back in his pottery class (it was bright yellow and green, if you want to know).
I remember visiting a cathedral one day where they kept a painting that was supposed to be a replica of the imprint of the Christ's face on St. Veronica's veil, and the guide spent several minutes before showing it to us, explaining that it might come as a bit of a shock, that the face painted on the canvas was not blue-eyed and not blond-haired. What a surprise, from a guy born in the middle-east...

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/theroyalfamily/6805975/Duke-of-Edinburgh-gaffes-by-mocking-blind-boy.html
The family of Stephen Menary, a teenage army cadet who was blinded in an IRA bombing, had been invited to meet the Queen and her husband at a tree planting event in Hyde Park.
After the Queen asked the then 15-year-old how much sight he had left, the Duke of Edinburgh responded: "Not a lot, judging by the tie he's wearing".

(sorry again about the rant. I would, however, be interested in thoughts on why multiculturalism seems to be a non-starter for so many)
Yet more evidence that the moon-landings are the most elaborate hoax ever:
'The Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, currently orbiting the Moon just 50 km off the surface, has taken more shots of the Apollo 17 landing site… and has seen the actual U.S. flag!'
http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/badastronomy/2009/10/30/and-the-flag-was-still-there/
The hoaxers were so determined to convince us that there had been moon landings that they actually went to the moon and planted an American flag there! Amazing!

This is probably slightly However, it amazes me that the Apollo landings were achieved thirty years ago and have yet to be surpassed, yet the computing and technology advances make everything they had look archaic

Yeah, but think of all the really important things human beings have achieved in the last 40 yrs that we wouldn't have if we'd been concentrating on exploring and developing and improving.

'A study published in the International Journal of Biological Sciences demonstrates the toxicity of three genetically modified corn varieties from the American seed company Monsanto, the Committee for Independent Research and Information on Genetic Engineering (Criigen, based in Caen), which participated in that study, announced Friday, December 11. . . .
Caen and Rouen University researchers, as well as Criigen researchers, based their analyses

It sounds like Monsanto is a candidate for being fined in the tens of billions of dollars. Sick data manipulation. I'm staying away from corn.

The EU is a unelected dictatorship it can do what it wants.
The EU parliament doesn;t make the rules the unelected EU commission does.
No-one is safe anymore.
Once we have all had the Euro forced upon us. Taxes and interest rates centralised. Police powers centralised and the UK system of blanket CCTV adopted all over the EU and the UK version of identity cards taken up by the EU then we won;t ecven be able to question who gest arrested and why because we will get arrested.
I'm George Orwell. Good night.
