Students charged for trouble in Belfast's "Holylands" on Paddy's day

I just don't understand - even when I do spend Paddy's Day drinking with friends it never seems to occur to me to start a riot or try to block off streets

To add a bit of context, noisy and drunken student behaviour in this area has been a problem for quite a while, so I don't think anyone was wildly surprised. (Saddened none the less. I was at a St Pats ceili on Monday night, and was dancing with Evelyn, a little old lady of about 80 who lives in the area. She was expressing concern even the night before about what would happen.)

this is astounding... Granted, it's The Sun, but... wow... how can people still be thinking, doing, these things in this day and age???
"... the Vatican's decision to excommunicate the mother of a nine-year-old Brazilian girl for permitting her daughter to undergo an abortion.
The child became pregnant with twins after having been raped by her stepfather, whom the Vatican did not chuck out. It did throw out the doctors who performed the abortion.
Evidently, a fetus is more innocent than a 9-year-old girl who had probably by that advanced age, told a fib or two, maybe even shoplifted candy"

I meant to mention, lostmonalisa, that the story about the little girl in Brazil was discussed here last week, which may be why there wasn't much (any) response when you posted it last night.
