When teenager Joanne Raine had her boyfriend's nickname "Roo" tattooed on her stomach it was supposed to be a sign of her undying love.
The 19-year-old from Darlington paid £80 for the Chinese artwork in 2004 and was delighted with the results.
That was until she showed it off in a Chinese takeaway and found out it actually spelled "supermarket."

The Max Planck Journal? Hmmm... I see an opportunity here for the next generation of sub atomic physicists. If string theory has gotten too tangled to follow, a new paradigm is in order. 'Hot housewives in action' just might do it.

You can call me TC Posted Mar 9, 2009
I haven't been able to keep up with this thread so can someone tell me if you have already covered a story I noticed today on a German website. I can't find any equivalent on an English language site, so I'm a bit unsure that it's not a hoax.
It seems to have appeared first in a Spanish newspaper "ABC".
The story goes that it has been discovered that Christopher Columbus wasn't actually called "Christopher Columbus", but Pedro Scotto, and was a part-Scot.
So what will the (Harry Potter) film director now call himself? And what about all those places named after the 15th century Spaniard? (e.g. Columbia, and was British Columbia also named after him? What about all the Plaza Colons in Spain???)
